    the smiths?

An overrated alt. rock/indie pop band with an arrogant frontman; does not appeal to me.

    the smiths?

The Smiths were indeed indie, as they were signed to an independent record label (Rough Trade) for most of their career. Also, I have listened to them quite a bit, and yes, some of their music was good, but, they are/were extremely overrated in my opinion.

PS: Morrisey is extremely arrogant, and if you think differently, you really do not know anything about the man.

There is a light that never goes out - one of the most beautiful songs ever.

Such a good band, haven't had one so good for a long time. They were and still are, awesome.

They do seem to be overrated, but they certainly had some bright spots in their run. I've gone through most of their stuff and, for their time, they were pretty indie, but they aren't for me.
