Anyone here good at WWI / II ?

Ok Well I know alot of you on here are very intelligent and was wondering if I could get a little help...

1) What went into the changing nature of war? Why did it change so radically, and what about it
seemed the most radical? What were the effects on the battlefield? How did it effect the soldiers?

2) What effects did the changing nature of war have on society? Conversely, what effects did 19th
century society have on the evolution of warfare in the 19th through the early 20th centuries?

3) What role did technology have on the changing nature of war? How did the progression of the
Industrial Revolution in the 19th Century effect the evolution of battlefield experiences?

4) What role does literature and art play in our understanding of the changing experiences of war? In
what way has literature been used to explore the nature of the battlefield and to show us how warfare,
and the way it was carried out, changed during the course of the 19th century?
_________________________________________________________________

Basically I need to write 9 pages! Yes 9 pages on these four questions =[ And I really really stink at history like I don't even know any of these questions..

So if anyoen could answer these - like a summary answer of an essay would be nice...

Willing to pay? Maybe pm me

Use Wikipedia. That is a lot of work, seeing how WWI and WWII are vastly different, and since I bet I could write 9 pages for each of those questions on one of the wars. >_>.

I have a vast amount of knowledge of World War II but unfortunately I don't feel like typing out the answers. They should be somewhat easy to find though and some of them are somewhat common sense. Just do some research and you will find your answers.

Anyone here good at WWI / II ?

Well with each one you're looking at two totally different things.

1) What went into the changing nature of war? Why did it change so radically, and what about it
seemed the most radical? What were the effects on the battlefield? How did it effect the soldiers?

ANSWER- The style of warfare between the two world wars showed the adjustments that had been made in the use of technology. The First World War introduced many new war making technologies. The Germans introduced the submarine to naval warfare, terrorizing the Atlantic and tipping the scales of naval power away from the British. The French used tanks for the first time to counter the strategy of trenches. Cannon technology advanced into long range shelling and machine gun technology made their use much more prevalent. Airplanes were used early in the war for reconnaissance and later became weapons of war. The use of chemical and biological weapons added a ghastly component to the new technologies used in the war.Unfortunately for the soldiers in the field, the battle strategies of the First World War did not advance along with the technology. The trench warfare technique lead to fatalities on a scale that was unimaginable even five years before the war. In the Battle of the Somme alone the British lost 25,000 men in the first day.
The technology leap between the world wars was incredible for the relatively short amount of time involved. Submarines and tanks became larger, faster and more powerful. Naval ships also became larger and more powerful, and the introduction of the aircraft carrier may have been the most important development of the war. Of course, the Second World War introduced the most destructive weapon in human history when the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima on August 6, 1945.

2) What effects did the changing nature of war have on society? Conversely, what effects did 19th
century society have on the evolution of warfare in the 19th through the early 20th centuries?

ANSWER- The Second World War was more of a total war than the first, in a variety of ways. More than forty-one million civilians died in the Second World War, more than any other war. Prior to WWII civilians were generally considered off limits for attack. However, the blitzkrieg strategies of the Nazis as well as bombing campaigns in both the European and Pacific theaters specifically targeted civilian populations.
The Second World War was a truly global conflict. Whereas in the First World War the colonies of the European countries did get involved in the fighting, the majority of the war was fought over approximately one hundred miles of territory. In the Second World War the fighting engulfed virtually every continent. Even neutral countries such as Switzerland, found themselves either invaded or attacked.
The most important difference between the world wars was their long term impact. The First World War lead to the rise of the fascists in Italy, Germany and Spain, and had a role in the creation of the Soviet Union, but the world structure was relatively unchanged. The major powers of the world, both politically and militarily were still in Europe. European issues dominated the international landscape. The world structure was still predicated on a euro-centric, balance of power model.

3) What role did technology have on the changing nature of war? How did the progression of the
Industrial Revolution in the 19th Century effect the evolution of battlefield experiences?

ANSWER-

The relationship between war and politics, tactics, and the safety of civilians has been tied to changing military technology. The implications of advances in military technology are often misunderstood. Such misunderstanding led generals to believe that offensive operations would dominate World War I which turned into a war of attrition.

A) Technology and The Conduct of WWI

Technological advances critical for fighting World War I include the development of railways and steamships, the Bessemer process for making steel, the canning of food, the machine gun, barbed wire, and the use of tanks, submarines, and poison gas in combat.

Europe’s leaders failed to recognize that many of these changes tipped the balance in favor of defensive warfare. Instead, they believed they needed to take the offensive to survive.

The failure of Germany’s Schlieffen Plan demonstrated the consequences of this flawed thinking.
B) Technology and the conduct of WWII
Germany and Japan effectively adapted technologies first developed in the previous war in World War II. France, in contrast, assumed World War II would be fought like World War I.
Large-scale strategic bombing, culminating in America’s dropping of 2 atomic bombs, dramatically raised the level of violence against civilians.

And the fourth one you should easily be able to figure out. Use y answer to form you a timeline for your nine pages and do extensive research on all of my answers. I hope this helps you and if you need anything else let me know.

Anyone here good at WWI / II ?

WW2 happened because of the after affects of world war 1. I'm not gonna give you an answer like Sephiroth878 but be sure to mention the fact that the second world war mainly occured due to uprising in Germany over the unfair terms and conditions following the defeat of the what became a weak country because of it. France managed to make sure Germany's economy would become messed up and they'd have no chance of attacking again. Due to the fear of the rise of communism in the East (Asia) during the '20s war conditions towards Germany were ignored by the people who set them (France, England and some other country I forget) in belief that Germany's amry would be benefitial to them. Germany then built up a big army and had good war technology. They took Poland and just spread from there. Ignorance, WW1 and unfair defeat conditions led to WW2. That's how the two are linked.
Also, WW1 especially and somewhat WW2 taught us that trench warfare was really shit and the atomic bomb was very bad!
I hope I helped a little, sounds like a bad assignment.
I guess Seph did your assignment for you though :p
