    85- combat: 1 def
    85+ combat: 20 def

93 99 25 at lvl 97 you can maintain a 1:1 kill/death ratio on average against rune pures and tanks
    only problem are mains

P2P Pure: Initiate vs. 1 Def

Generally, most people only make an Initate pure because they've accidently gotten a few Defence levels up.
Very few people ACTUALLY make Initate pures for the sake of it.

I personally like both, if I had to have defence though, I'd rather go for a Zerker Pure, they stand a better chance againts a main.

There's a few things that Initate Pures have that 1 Defence don't though:

    - Initate Armour is roughly the same bonus's as Adamant Armour, but without the extea 10 Defence levels.
    - Initate Armour gives a beefy prayer bonus
    - You'll get hit slighty less.
    - You've got acess to Corrupt PvP Armour.

Obviously though, getting the extra defence levels is going to boost your combat by about 3 - 4 maybe 5 levels, so that'll make the players your going to face a bit harder, so you may want to think about that.

In my opinion, I'd say to keep 1 Defence, if you end up mucking up at some stage, get 20 Defence.

    Either way, goodluck. :)

Quick question, I've heard that you no longer need to use the spirit tree glitch to get addy gloves on 1 def pures and rune on initiates, due to being able to just flat out refuse the defense exp and use Daero to get to Ape Atoll.

    Is this true?

    80 attack, 99 strength, and 20 defense can't go wrong :)

(80 attack is the next level up from 75 that increases hit ratios)

I Go with the Intiate route then convert into rune pure once i get bored with that but u have to tailor the initate pure so you can do that later down the road.

Id definately stay 1 defence as you cant de-train defence. If you find yourself getting owned then train it :)
