    Teleportation.

A wormhole could allow time travel. This could be accomplished by accelerating one end of the wormhole to a high velocity relative to the other, and then sometime later bringing it back; relativistic time dilation would result in the accelerated wormhole mouth aging less than the stationary one as seen by an external observer, similar to what is seen in the twin paradox. However, time connects differently through the wormhole than outside it, so that synchronized clocks at each mouth will remain synchronized to someone traveling through the wormhole itself, no matter how the mouths move around. This means that anything which entered the accelerated wormhole mouth would exit the stationary one at a point in time prior to its entry.

For example, consider two clocks at both mouths both showing the date as 2000. After being taken on a trip at relativistic velocities, the accelerated mouth is brought back to the same region as the stationary mouth with the accelerated mouth's clock reading 2005 while the stationary mouth's clock read 2010. A traveller who entered the accelerated mouth at this moment would exit the stationary mouth when its clock also read 2005, in the same region but now five years in the past. Such a configuration of wormholes would allow for a particle's world line to form a closed loop in spacetime, known as a closed timelike curve.

It is thought that it may not be possible to convert a wormhole into a time machine in this manner; some analyses using the semiclassical approach to incorporating quantum effects into general relativity indicate that a feedback loop of virtual particles would circulate through the wormhole with ever-increasing intensity, destroying it before any information could be passed through it, in keeping with the chronology protection conjecture. This has been called into question by the suggestion that radiation would disperse after traveling through the wormhole, therefore preventing infinite accumulation. The debate on this matter is described by Kip S. Thorne in the book Black Holes and Time Warps. There is also the Roman ring, which is a configuration of more than one wormhole. This ring seems to allow a closed time loop with stable wormholes when analyzed using semiclassical gravity, although without a full theory of quantum gravity it is uncertain whether the semiclassical approach is reliable in this case.

Could this be posibble and could we travel trough time and teleport from A to B ? Also i read something in it wich said that if 1 piece of your body could be a bacteria did not come with you you could die..

Wormholes are purely hypothetical, and I doubt they exist at all.

Time travel is a joke. Time is abstract, it's not a physical phenomenon. You can't travel back and forth in it. Also, time travel is a paradox. What would happen if your actions in the past stops you from traveling?

If time travel were a possibility, I believe that it could be one of the most painful experiences one could ever feel, because in my head, I see your particles being ripped apart from your body and then a split second later, appear and reassemble themselves somewhere else. The idea sort of scares me >.<

We will never be able to teleport, even with all this information about worm holes. It's not going to happen.

We will most likely be able to teleport but it wont be any time soon most likely another 100 years in the future

It most likely be impossible I have to admit as well, just the concept of moving ones matter instantaneously to another spot would be too hard to even imagine mathematically, and what of the thousands of things that could go wrong? Like teleporting into an area where there is already matter in the way.

Einsteins theory of relativity proved that time travel is impossible.

Time travel? Wasn't this topic on teleportation?

EDIT: I realized that though tarum named the topic as "teleportation," he introduces it with the possibility of time travel.

Nope, just faster than light travel - although that is indeed, one theory of time travel.

Time travel is more a violation of casuality - see granfather clause. The alternate universe theory would alleviate this problem though it's another theory on it's own.

/ this thread is not sfa worthy.

    Teleportation.

Wormholes/Teleportation will not ever exist. Since that method of transportation will most likely damage the human/item in some way or another. Think about it, walking is not teleporting, and how are you going to spawn someone some place else. Lets just keep this idea fictional.
EDIT: Also, the gravitational pull that is suppost to be so "fast" will burn you up, because there is no possible way to travel faster than light without generating heat, thus catching on fire, if the material is made up of material that could burn.

Really, it wont kill you to use proper grammar and punctuality.

I agree with the object being teleported burned up, but aren't there still wormholes in space? Please correct me if I am wrong.

As I've said, wormholes are purely hypothetical. It has never been observed, it's just an idea of something that could exist.

Teleportation can not happen, it's both in the laws of physics and the basis of biology, The mass acceleration in our cells would either create a black hole or merely kill you. If cells fill up a room, and you dissipate then a instantaneous vacuum would emanate, (and then what else) which is probably impossible.

    Teleportation.

It is entirely possible to have "teleportation". Just not essentially in the common term.

You would need to essentially have a method of transport that could break the body down in a specific order and store it, send it to the location and reassemble it at a molecular level.

    No need for wormholes..

Since that method of transportation will most likely damage the human/item in some way or another, Correct but we will never now IF they will find out something that can avoid it.

Also, the gravitational pull that is suppost to be so "fast" will burn you up, because there is no possible way to travel faster than light without generating heat, thus catching on fire, if the material is made up of material that could burn.

The earth is still undiscovered maybe there is some material that cant be burned.

In my opinion i think teleportation will be available in the next 30 years but from small distances and will be get more distances by technologic wonders.

    Teleportation.

How do you solve the problem of "hitting" the air at the exit? Have an exit chamber with a vacuum?

    Anyway, doubt it'll ever happen.

instead of focusing on these so called "worm holes", go find a "warm hole" and stick your dick in it.
