rap, although the rap these days makes no sense and sings about the lamest subjects. rock just gives me a damn headache

 

I'd have a little more respect for rap if there wasn't that cloak of gangsterness surrounding it. The vast majority of it is about hoes, drugs, clubs, and gangs. Getting a little old.

 

Wrong, if you would take the time to find good rap music you would love it more. Rap music is just like every other genre, it goes through it's ups and downs and will always have bands/singers/rappers that are at the bottom of the list.

I really REALLY hate this argument, although that's my opinion because I like both genres.

Initially, I started listening to rap/hip-hop as a kid, and started to listen to Alternative from my brothers ipod about 5 years ago, and then listened to Rock.

I just like songs that I can listen to have a good time. Kind of like listening to Rap/hip-hop for certain parties, and listening to metal/death metal for adrenaline reasons/headbanging to the song for the hell of it.

Now, you could say I like music from Rap to Death metal. Yeah, I'm that flexible. A perfect example of songs you would find me listening on my ipod is from the following:





^^ With this last song, I actually learned how to play this song on guitar.

I also wish that I met people that were this diverse.

 

I love rap but only oldschool rap, such as Wu-tang, NWA, Nas, Tupac, etc. Moreover i like hard rock though.

 

I'm split on this but I had to go with rock because there are more Rock then Rap amongst my favourite songs of all time. >_<

 

Rap beats originated from rock, in fact, rap originated from rock.
And you should take your own advice and listen to rock songs that aren't as commercial

You clearly don't know what you're talking about. I'd say about more than half of all types of rock songs don't every scream. I think you're thinking about genres like screamo, forms of metal, etc.

But rock in general never scream.

 

I prefer rap over anything, but rock is fine too I mean I don't hate it. I just enjoy rap more because I think rap has more flow and beat to it, plus I can relate
Aslong as you don't listen to like screamo or crap like that, rock is fine.
