Hey, I've been getting 2GB a month for the past year and a half (I <3 my Mum's decision making). Anyway, we're soon to be off the optus plan and I'm wondering which plans / companies you guys are with in Australia. And no I don't wanna put this is tech support cause I don't need support, I need answers!
Back on topic which net should I get!!! TPG looks good but my mate said it can lag.

I'd appreciate if you told me the company, if it's the best to have and also, that's a pretty expensive quota :D. Thx for 1st post!

Heh, from what I've seen IMO the big corporations such as Optus and Telstra are damn rip-offs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think your deal sounds like a bit of a rip off (no offence ;P) I really wanna shop around

$70 a month for 80GB of downloads (35GB peak+45GB offpeak) of regular DSL with 1500/256Kilobits/s. If you're in ADSL2+ exchange then you can get a bit better.

All ISPs get lag. It also vastly depends on how close you are to the exchange. Tell your friend just because he lags doesn't mean everyone else does.

Alright.. it sounds almost as if you're getting annoyed at my friend! I am already seriously considering TPG! It looks pretty damn good.. 80GB beats the hell outta 2GB but I hate the off-peak on-peak stuff and I need to know if you suffer excess charges if you go over or if you just get capped (GF :X)

As Swan said, TPG is probably your best bet.
Another ISP with good plans is Exetel.

TPG doesn't charge excess - they shape the speed to 64/64k or 128/128k depending on the plan.
