Will santa hats price drop or rise?

I recently just bought a santa hat for 28,5mil , med price was 29MIL.
Was it a good deal, price will rise in the future or drop?

 

You should have bought it this summer when they were 14M lol.

 

All rares are going to rise, they'll most likely never drop in a large amount again.
They won't drop because of the Merchant clans buying all them out, or other high level players buying the rares such as Cheesy, or just botters that buy them because they know their account is just going to get banned anyways and which makes the game have one less Santa hat.

 

lol i botted on my main to get that santa, still going strong. I hope i dont get banned using rsbots.net scripts like 10 + hours a day.

Well if they mass unban people that were previously banned on runescape when Mechscape will go out, I'm pretty sure the Santa's and other rares will go down.

And maybe if people quit runescape for mechscape, they'll sell their rares? who knows

Actually, almost every single item is rising, because of the hyper-inflation; the items will keep rising until Jagex finally nerf the pvp drop system.

What are you talking about lol, everyday rares get lost due to people quitting, or getting banned.. Also Jagex can't nerf the pvp drop system, because if you can't do the 76k trick then there won't even be any more pvp because you aren't breaking any rules.

They usually drop after Christmas.

 

Yea I love how people think at x-mas they rise so much, but actually everyone thinks yay they are rising let's sell! Well everyone selling = drop

 

I think it'll be a long time until that happens. They're 'fix' for that was the shop update, so players dump all their money into the shops, but the rate at which gold is being created is much higher. I don't know what to say about this... if they try another fix, it could indeed affect the Santa price. However, in the long run, I believe it's a good investment.

Yeah, at Christmas they rise, same as H'ween masks rise a little at Halloween.

I doubt that rares will go down again soon, if anything I'd suspect that they'd rise further..

 

Rule of thumb: On Black Friday (day after Thanksgiving when all the Christmas sales start IRL) buy as many Santa Hats as you can. That will give enough time for them to rise before Christmas.

Another rule of thumb: If you have cash that you won't be needing for a while, don't wait until Black Friday. Buy all the Santas on Halloween or the day after. This is also when you are SELLING your H'ween masks that you bought in mid-August (when school starts).

That should be your merchanting fiscal year:

Buy H'ween masks when school starts (Mid August).

Sell H'ween masks the day of, or the day after Halloween.

Buy Santa hats either the day you sell H'ween masks or on Black Friday.

Sell Santa hats Christmas morning, or the day after.
​

You can do this cycle with other small things such as Easter eggs and Pumpkins, but it won't have the same massive profits as the two I listed above. Just remember, when you buy and sell things, try to leave a 2-3 month margin between them.
