2 week bans for abuses in the game

As a lot of people know beginning, in of this year there was an ED bug where you could bug the dungeon so you could always kill the last boss over and over instead of having to do the full dungeon.

This resulted in a massive abuse of people trying to farm ED3 for eldritch crossbow pieces and making billions on billions.

The people abusing this bug only got 2 week bans, nothing else from it.


During that period there was also a lockout issue in the game where a lot of players where locked out and couldn't log back in. When that was resolved it was possible you lost items due to the way they put the accounts back in the game.
If you where missing items you could file in a report stating this and you would most likely get your item back from this forum, I myself play RS3 and was locked out during this time. When I returned I lost 1 bond, filled in the application and got my 1 bond back a couple of days later.

Somebody however filled this forum in and got back 30 Million water battlestaves. Some people say he put in that he was missing 30M staves, some people say he only asked for 300 but they gave him 30M instead.
Doesn't mather what happened, but the guy kept them, told everybody about it and tried to cashout for a party hat.

Resulting in the player getting a 2 week ban.


TLDR: bug abuse on legit accounts in RS3 and get slapped on the wrist with 2 week bans. Easy clap

 

That’s insane. Almost sounds like he intentionally gamed the system and they didn’t initially catch it, based on the posts

 

Would you brag about it if you were in his position? I'm curious whether someone would let Jagex know that they made a mistake and do the right thing.

 

This sounds like shit that would happen 10y ago. Funny how they actually made an item recovery system for that fuckup.

I'm calculating roughly $10k worth of battlestaves.

 

Everything got removed and trades were rolled back. Mistake but no harm was done.
