    Need help building gaming PC

So I'm going to build my own gaming PC. My budget is roughly 350, I can go over but not by a lot. I won't technically be using it for gaming that much, I just need it for video editing/photoshop/music stuff. I just need it to play a game like WoW at a constant smooth FPS (around 30) I don't need 92fps, because it's pointless. I don't play WoW, just trying to give you an idea on what I'm looking for.

I can and will overclock, but not by a ton. I'm not going to buy cooling equipment, so yeah.

I really don't know what is the best of what for the price. I need help with some parts

    • Graphic Card (I prefer NVIDIA, but ATI is good too. I just don't know which ones)
    • Processor (AMD wins for me, also don;t know what kind though)
    • (Cheap) LCD Monitor (widescreen, need it for editing.
    • Sound card - I will be hooking it up to my receiver, so anything that can handle that. I really don't know much about that. Needs to be able to handle 5.1 surround.

Some nice cases would be nice too, or some cheap efficient power supplies. This is not necessary though because it's just a matter of finding good deals.

    Thanks

Tip: If you are going to overclock, you've got to get proper cooling. Even if it seems fine at first, your pc will lose alot of life expectancy.

i know ur partial to amd, but for video/photoshop intel dual cores are far superior.

get urself a nice intel dual core for 50-70 bucks. i run an e1200 celeron dualcore thats 1.6gig and it handles anything i throw at it.

the motherboard i use is an intel dq45cb, it doesnt allow overclocking, but has build in 5.1 surround sound support, 1 gig ethernet, etc..., and its cheap, again, 50$ or so.

if your dead set on nvidia, ur going to need a power supply with a dedicated graphics connector, or get the 9600 gso. they're like 60-70 bucks and are board powered. will handle WoW very easily.

memory is the demon here. u need a good amount of memory now adays, i would recommend atleast 4 gigs.

hd is same as memory, a 1tb hd now a days are relatively cheap. just stick with sata as ide is pretty much deader then a doornail.

as for the most cost killer, the monitor is gonna murder ya here, a decent 19" widescreen lcd now a days are like 100-150$. dont cheap out, when it comes to lcd's, u get what u pay for.

Sweet. You remind me of myself, I wanted to build a custom gaming PC for WoW. My budget was way higher though, around 1500 dollars.

    Anyways the key components:

    RAM
Motherboard (save money by getting it with built in sound card)
Graphics card (1GB DDR3 graphics cards are cheap now!)
Hard Drive (go for something medium size 500GB-1TB. Fairly cheap)
PC Case (Well you'll need a case to house your computer)
Fan (If you can find one included with your PC case, GREAT!)
Power Supply (Go for something from Corsair, very reliable)
CPU (In order to raise your FPS you'll need a fast CPU, GO INTEL! I picked up a Intel i7 Quad Core clocked at 4.00 GHz, but that's overkill. Go for a dual core for your budget!)
The OS or Operating System (Computers don't come with nice Windows or Mac already on it, you'll need to buy the operating system CD, or burn the OS onto a DVD-R and use the CD Code from your previous Windows Machine.)

If you need any other help, just PM me. I'll be happy to help. I build PC's all the time for people, and its just a very FUN experience!

XS if I were you, with said budget, be smart about your initial purchase.

    My questions:
Do you have the other parts already, the ones not listed?
Will you be gaming on it at all?

Answer those and I will check back then possibly help you build if you like.

I dont know that much in detail about computers but I know where to get the best prices!

www.Newegg.com - Is a very great place to buy parts for your computer

And if I were to recommend a video card to you, buy

ATI radeon 9600xt sapphire ---- Costs about $20 on Ebay used, and for playing counterstrike, COD, and other online games, I averaged about 40-50 FPS with my bad computer but I had a good video card!

Gotta recommend an nVidia GeForce GTX 295 if you don't have a price limit.
On the much more realistic side, where you DO have a price limit, I would say a nVidia GeForce 8800 GT or 9800 GT.

you want a monitor AND a gaming computer for 350?
wait till you get more money, it would be stupid to buy anything at this point.
