The Existence of God

There is proof all around us. Do you really think that everything around you did not have a creator? Some intelligent being had to create everything. There is no way it formed all by its self.

 

There have been theres of life being first created on earth. There are other signs of life similar to ours in space, but these organisms are very simple bacteria, but living non-the less.

But being a church going man, I put my faith that there is a God

 

What do you mean? Everyone is judged the same.

 

The church is a horrible organization that has condemned millions to death. You should not have faith just because you are a church going man. Find what you believe by your self, and if you feel that going to church is right, then do it.

 

God is timeless, or in other words outside the bounds of time. He was never created, and he was never end.

During his time, the Romans would have killed you if you were a known follower of Jesus. You needed much more faith back then, but it was easier to get due to knowing Jesus personally.

 

Indeed this is what I put my faith in, the statement was just a saying. But I dont go to church out of moral obligation, its a choice I make

Changing your hard-set religious views when doing so may mean your death is harder than you can imagine.

honestly it doesnt affect my very much. the basic principles of christianity and all major religions are compassion, honesty, and integrity. i live my life trying to follow those ideals, so like :s it doesnt matter. often what the right thing to do lines up with the religous thing to do. honestly im a uinitarian universalist (google it) which isnt really a religion.

 

God designed it to function under certain laws...

 

The creation of the natural world is not simple at all.

 

But when you see it in terms of religious views, did it not seem so?

 

Riddle me this:

If there was/is a God, why does he tolerate war if "thou shall not kill"...and don't tell me that we have never killed for religion...remember the Crusades? Or the Muslim extremists who construe their religion to wage a Holy War against Christians?

 

This is a commandment he placed, which is true, why does he allow killing? He doesnt. But he is a god of choice and will not stop you from what you are doing, though in numerous reference the bible states that doing so greatly pains the lord because he loves each of us equally.

However when the day of judgment does come, you can expect him to condemn those who broke his rules.

Though you are right it is not the will of god that these events occur, religious zealots that want their religion to be the one and only religion tend to create wars when conflicting religions meet each other in the middle.

Is that not what you would expect? Extremists what will not accept, in their head, another false teaching when they so believe their religion is the one and only true religion and all should pay homage to their god.

 

But still, if it pains him so much, why doesn't he stop so others do not have to suffer? I thought he was crucified so that we wouldn't have to suffer?

Why would he let all the death and killing continue? I find it hard to believe that if there is a Higher Power they would allow such things to continue.

But that's me and I am comfortable in my ways.

Many people ask that question but in the end how are we to understand the lords will as he could not possibly think on the same level we humans do.

God's son, Jesus Christ, was the ultimate sacrifice, before only the highest of priests could go talk to the lord, but once Jesus died on the cross, the curtain was ripped in half. Giving all the opportunity to talk to the lord, which essentially meant asking for forgiveness of our sins.

The punishment of sin was death so when Jesus died for us that meant we did not have to suffer the terrible fate awaited for us because we sinned, we can ask for forgiveness as I stated earlier.

However I agree, I find it faltering every time i hear of terrible murders and such disregard for the human life.

This bothers me. If God created the system, why does Jesus need to die on the cross? Couldn't he, being omnipotent, just hand out forgiveness to all? I guess the Lord works in mysterious and unnecessarily cruel ways.

And another thing. Christians generally seem to see the people who killed Jesus as the big bad guys. In my opinion, Christians should get on their knees and thank the people that killed Jesus.

 

But if are disgusted by the killing and deaths, is that assuming we think at a higher level because He does nothing?
