    Captcha's Are Now Human-Proof Too?

I just got this captcha from myspace, and i know they are to stop bots, but i have no fucking idea what this second word is. The first word is 'working'. Can anyone work at the second word?

I generally get captcha's wrong. These words aren't too bad. But the random letters, sometimes could take me up to 3 tries.

Yea i find i have the same problem as well, registering for a site and what not. But there are also options to listen to a short clip and write out what you heard... now THAT is pure bs

Thats for those that can't see though? How is it BS? hahah.

I've had to use them sometimes on sites with some crazy complex captcha's. I think they have like, levels of difficulty. You get some sites with easy ones, then you get some with like, expert ones.

lol yea and what im saying is how they they know what to type when they cant see? o_O I find that when u register to some asian site, the captions u need to write are so plainly simple, like capital letters. like i hate it when it shows 2 words, cause are u supposed to space them out? or write it like 1 word >.<

    Captcha's Are Now Human-Proof Too?

It's reCaptcha, which uses words from old books to create the captures, the first word is one reCaptcha knows, the second is one the computer doesn't know, so when you put the first in and it's right, then put the second in reCaptcha assumes you must be right on the second word and records it. It's all in order to digitize old books. That's why it worked by the first word only.

Google bought reCaptcha... Google needs to gtfo of all the good things.

TDD when you mean records it does it like put whatever someone typed and think its that? So when its ever repeated the person could get it wrong when the person is actually typing it right?

This makes sense if you realise how the reCAPTCHA project works.

    Captcha's Are Now Human-Proof Too?

Basically how it works is this:

reCaptcha takes a bunch of old books and has a computer attempt to digitize every word in the book, if the computer cannot digitize certain words then it passes them along to the captcha you see on myspace and any other recaptcha-using website.

The captcha is two words, one which recaptcha already knows (so like "hello") and one that the computer cannot digitize. So if it's a real person they'll get the word right, "hello", and then the second one. The second word is sent back to reCaptcha, and if a number of people all send the same word back it is considered to be that word. So if 50 people all send "g'day" for a word, then reCaptcha considers that word as "g'day", basically the goal is to digitize all the old books to keep a record of them.
