iPod Touch/iPhone?

Correct me if i am wrong, but the unlock for the 3gs is not out yet... And according to the devs, may never come.

 

i hear the iphone is real expensive and can be easily broken.. try buying an ipod touch and buy a regular phone. this is what i did and its way cheaper than just the iphone itself

 

that what I have, and with the new generation of itouch, it may as well be an iphone

 

I sold my first gen touch for $230 on amazon a year and a half ago and bought a 2g iphone 3 days later for $150.

Also i eventually got tired of having to carry both my ipod touch and my phone, and i had to keep one in my left pocket and then there was no room for my wallet. Iphones save a lot of space.

How exactly?

• No camera(or video camera with the ability to upload videos to youtube)
• No built in microphone
• Shit speaker
• OpenGL ES is only supported on 32 and 64gig
• You can't sms messages or call people (unless your using google voice or skype or a product like that)
• You can't get a data plan for it

 

the fabled camera that recent itouch users wanted hasn't appeared yet, but im thinking it will in due time. You in fact can use mic's with your itouch, and for the "shit" speaker would they not use the same technology as the iphone? I dont know but thats my guess. And I meant that it was almost an iphone, so that immediately excludes a data plan and sms

 

As tdd already stated apple releases new iphone/ipods once a year. Iphones are in june/july, and ipods are early September. Thats a full year from now, and unless apple can find a way to fit a camera in and still be able to sell it at the same price points they won't be adding it.

You can use mics with them, however you must plug it in and have it with you at all times - which is a hassle.

Yea it is. I have my 3gs 32gig unlocked. It has problems when using the sn0w products so I used purple ra1n. Plus purple ra1n is a lot easier to use.

 

This undoubtedly true, I admit fault

 

Steve Jobs has already said there will never be a camera in the iPod Touch as it is now considered more of a gaming device, and they want to continue marketing it as so.
