JaGeX getting ready for avatars on Runescape forums?

EDIT: My prediction came true, avatars were indeed added to the RS forums.

If you look through the source code of a thread on the RS forums, with some knowledge of HTML you'll notice that test.gif is placed right under everyone's username but is invisible.

Here's what it looked like after I edited the source to make it visible:

Nice find svew, I heard they were going to try to do this but I didn't see any proof. So thanks for this.

 

I'm pretty sure Jagex themselves said they were going to add this and signatures a while back..

 

Well, with the previous updates to the forum, it seems they are actually trying to make it look like a real forum, instead of a discussion board. I'll hope for the best .

The avatars will mostly be a generated picture of your character's head or somewhat. There's no way they'd allow users to upload their own images, else they wouldn't be able to make the forums accessible to anyone under 18 for risk of porn uploads.

Chances of porn being uploaded by 'trolls' if JaGeX lets us upload our own.

 

I always wondered when they would implement something like this.

I agree, though they might just give the players a couple of RuneScape related avatars to choose from.

awsome. I wonder if we will be able to chose our avatar, like we can wear our best armour in the picture. That would be sweet.

 

Never they d let you upload ur own pics

nice find, i read this on another runescape forum a few months ago, but its nice to see that theyre following implementing it

 

they'v said their going to be overhauling the forums, they need to their like 10years out dated
