TRX miscommunication

I want to start off by saying it's not a scam, yanlili is a legit gold buyer and seller. I want an experts opinion on this.

There is definitely a language barrier between yanlili and I and when sending the crypto we agreed on using TRX.





Everything went well. He did send the money to the address, but there was one exception. He used SMART CONTRACTS. My wallet does not support smart contracts and I cannot access the money. As you can see he was talking about usdt trx but I had no idea and thought i would clear it all up by saying "send trx to this" after I sent him the address. I contacted the support on the site and they said that they can't access the money because it is a smart contract. What do we do?

Yanlili did not do this intentionally. Neither of us are experts in the crypto scene. The stake.com support is telling me that there is no way of retrieving the money since a smart contract was used.

What looks like happened here is a miscommunication regarding TRX.

Yanlili meant USDT on the Tron Network, not the TRX coin itself.
This doesn't have anything to do with Smart Contracts from what I can see, just a case of wrong currency to wrong address type.

Unfortunately, looking at your conversation here, there is nothing that can be done and it looks like Yanlili tried to be clear about USDT being sent.

I can't hold someone liable for this.

Moving forward please be very careful confirming the currency being sent and the network that is being used.
It is also a great rule of thumb to research any currency you plan on using.
