Should homosexuals have the right to get married?

Why? The chuch isn't the authority on marriage, the government is. Marriage is a state-regulated institution. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Separation_of_church_and_state

This entire post with loaded with fail. You take some general bullshit, combined with half-truths, and arrive at an entirely irrelevant conclusion.

-Sports are NOT as public as the government is.
    - Marriage and freedom of assembly are not mutual rights. The fact that you mixed these two together is a huge fuck up.
    - You cited communal "discomfort" as a reason against constitutional validity? Look back into the 1960's political movement to see how retarded that sounds.
    - You pretend to acknowledge both sides of an argument, yet you completely miss both. There are plenty more errors in your post that I don't even have time to address.

That's the problem. The government should have as much say in marriage as the church has in your driver's license.

Sigh... The point is that this whole subject should be questioning the church, not the government.

Not going to happen. Marriage is a state institution for good reason.

    Legal rights.
A married couple should have legal benefits that differ from two individuals. And Use your head on this one before asking why :p

    Follow-up question:
Why should you get legal benefits for participating in a religious ritual?

    You shouldn't.

Brings me back to my point: marriage is not, and should not be, religiously institutionalized.

Well, to actually answer the question, it's because marrige is suppose to be an extreme love for the couple, and basically foreshadow the length of the relation should last. But nowadays, it doesn't mean anything but a federally acknowledged couple.

Just sdfu and gtfo with both your ignorant rants. Don't try coming in SFA with ridiculous attempts in joining or starting a debate. Most of us who participate in discussions such as these are to educate and learn about different topics not senselessly rant with unintelligent remarks.

As for FreedomFight - no one cares for your conundrums.

How many homosexual couples actually believe public marriage is actually a event to support their love and not in spite of the protesters.

Should homosexuals have the right to get married?

This may be my first short intelligent post. For me it's like a man and a women having feelings for each other. If a man and a man are bounded together, what gives us the right to say no to them being married. It's natural and it's obviously an instinct that the minority have is liking a man. If they're happy and feel like they want to spend the rest of their life together let it be? In the uk there's a big thing on discrimination to asians, and i'm sure it's like that whereever you be in the world. In the UK discimination is frowned upon. IF we're to say no, this is discrimination. I'm affraid i don't particpate in discrimination.
    amen

Becaue not everyone is gay... It's like how heterosexuals are attracted to the opposite sex, homos feel the same for their own sex its just natural to them they can't help if they feel that way. So the protesters feel it is not natural so they protest simple ^^

Your either for or against this end of story.

Stuart just put that plainly and correctly,I think we could argue about this all day. It's no god and there is a god, it all depends on what you believe in.

If gays were only getting married for the sole purpose of an uproar, then that means, there would have to be protesters, before they wanted to become married. And i'm pretty sure no one woke up and just made a random protest about gay marriage. Something occurred. A gay couple wanted to get married for federal and relationship reasons.
