As long as your on custom firmware you can update using the psp network update, as long as you have wireless internet access.

Before you do so though, off your PSP completely, and on it again holding the R button so it goes into recovery mode, then click setting and make sure network update is set to M33, otherwise when you click network update it will update to normal firmware (making your psp not modded), so make sure it's set to m33 before you click network update.

Yes it does mean it's CFW.

Go under configuration and check if network update is set to M33, then just click exit and you'll be at the psp main menu, under settings, choose network update and you'll download and update the latest version of CFW. You can only do this if you have wireless internet access, however. If you don't then you'll have to download the update yourself on the internet and then put it on your psp via usb, and then load it.

You place your CSO/ISO in the ISO folder in the root menu of your psp.

Lol thank you very much for your help skele, but I'm still alittle in the dark.

The configuration menu looks like this

    Skip sony logo(currently:disabled)
    hide corrupt icons(currently:disabled)
    gamefolder hombrew(currently:1.50 kernel)
    auturun program at /psp/game/boot/eboot.pbp(currently:disabled)
    umd mode(currently:normal -umd required-)
    fake region (currently:disabled)
    free umd region(currently:disabled)
    hard reset on homebrew(currently:disabled)
    use vshmenu(currently:enabled)
    xmb usb device (currently:memory stick)

    Nothing about network update.
I do have wireless internet access, so np there.

Ah I just realized, in order to use the network update to update your CFW you must already be running 3.80M33.

In that case you'll have to download the 3.80m33 update yourself on the computer and put it in your psp and run it. Then once it's at 3.80m33, you can use the network update to update it all the way to latest (which is somewhere in the 5 range).

I downloaded 3.80m33, and sony 3.80, put the update folder on the psp in the correct location along with the 380.pbp sony update thing, ran it, it showed the psp logo thingy, then just turns off? I check and it's still 3.71, what is going on?

Your only supposed to download 3.80m33, if you update to the sony 3.80 your psp wont have CFW anymore.

Follow instructions on the page where you downloaded, I normally update via the psp network update so I'm not sure what you do, but I'm pretty sure you just put it in the psp>game folder and then run it as a normal game.

Make sure you have full battery though, as if you screw it up your psp can be bricked.

The directions require the 3.80 OFW to be in the same folder as the CFW for some reason. Two different websites verified that. The problem is, it's not updating. It just turns off when I run it. Very frustrating =[

Ok do this, there's a program, not sure what it's called but its somethingcat recovery flasher.

Download that and follow instructions on where to put it, and run it. Using that you can update all the way to 5.01m33 and then you can use network update to update to the latest version.
