I'm pretty sure this is the place to post this....but if its not, i dont mind it its moved or deleted;)
Ok anyway, I am buying myself a new electric guitar...I want a really good one. My old one is shit lol...and you know you just can't play the solo to Sweet Child O' Mine on an acoustic...My hero of guitar is Slash from Guns N Roses....and I wanted a guitar like his. So i see he uses a custom gibson les paul guitar...i go on their website and i see a 800 dollar one and one over 1000 dollars the one over 1000 is the studio version or soemthing like that.

So basically my question is, does anyone here have a gibson les paul, and if you do, please share your experiences with it? Do you like it, etc.
And if you have a different type like a stratocaster or something, please tell me why you prefer it...I'd like to know these things b4 i go and purchase soemthing over 1k..lol thank you.

I don't own one but I've played them before. They are very nice, easy to use...My advice for buying guitars is to splurge on one that you think is going to satisfy you for a long time, rather than spending an almost equal amount on average guitars that you'll want to replace.

I don't have one, but i always play one at school.

They are okay, i still prefer my BC Rich Warlock over it, but they aren't bad.

I have one, its really anything special to me, it depends on your playing style. Les Pauls are generally good for most styles, but if you want something that will shred, I'd go with a Jackson or Ibanez

Been playing guitar for almost 10 years now and I own a Gibson along with a few other of the big names. Be sure to play on it quite a bit because the neck can take some getting used to. For the price, Gibson is a little high for what you get. If you're really looking to maximize the bang for your buck, I recommend reading the articles by Ed Roman, http://www.edroman.com/

The guitars the big names play are NOTHING like the guitars they sell to mainstream customers, even if they look the same.

At the moment I own a stratocaster, but I have played on Les Pauls quite a few times and definitely prefer them. I find that the sound is better when you are plugged in aswell. Hope I helped :)
