    Guide to job application/work steps

Note: First thing is first, this is not going to anyway guarantee that you get the job 100%. There is always competition, sometimes it's just out of your hands.

For those of you who are looking for work, either temporary or full time, this is a must read. First thing is first, the hunt!

    Hunting for a job:

    Step 1:
Scour the internet, newspapers, cell phone contacts. In a small city, it's all about who you know and first impressions.

Step 2: Even if places aren't hiring, submit applications. Preferably paper (in-store) applications, online applications don't get as much attention.

Step 3: Call in an check or better yet, GO IN. Check often, frequently, shows you're interested and persistent, hardworking, and competitive.

Once you've found a job, the next stage is called the interview.

Sink or Swim - The Interview

Interview Tip 1: Plan Ahead - Do a little homework! Research the company and the position if possible, as well, the people you will meet with at the interview. Review your work experiences. Be ready to support past career accomplishments with specific information targeted toward the companies needs. Have your facts ready!

    Interview Tip 2:
Role Play - Once you have finished studying, begin role playing (rehearsing). Use the general questions provided below in the Interview Preparation Area. Write down answers if it helps to make your presentation more concise. Try to keep your answers to the information your new employer will want to know. But don't do so much preparation that you sike yourself out and blank out on the spot.

Interview Tip 3: Eye Contact - Maintain eye contact with your interviewer. Show you want the job with your interest. Not so much contact that it feels creepy though.

    Interview Tip 4:
Be Positive & Confident - You know you're going to get the job and your interviewer is going to love you. Keep your posture straight up, and speak clearly. Listening is of the utmost importance, otherwise you're not going to have anything to say when they respond.

    Interview Tip 5:
Pray - If you aren't really a religious person, ignore this section. But there are a lot of competitors out there. You'll need all the help you can get.

Follow all these tips and regulations, and maybe in the near future you'll be employed successfully!

I liked this guide; it’s short, simple and straight to the point. I like the way how you described to plan ahead and do some research and how you stated that keeping eye contact is of the utmost importance. For next time, you could go into a tad more detail about some of the questions that the interviewer will be asking you, obviously they'll ask different questions for different jobs but you could use an example, e.g. applying for a job at KFC.

Overall, It was a great guide and I hope to see you make more quality ones such as this.

    7/10.

Pretty good guide, I may reffer back to it in the near future. I like how you posted all the things you should do and maintain in an interview. I don't like the pictures though, in this particular case I would say leave them out.

The guide is decent at best. I would suggest editing the format of your guide foremost, such as centering your pictures. When doing this it breaks up pictures and text giving the reader a much clearer separation of text and visuals. I would also mention how attire, depending upon the type of job and what position, is extremely important as it gives the interviewer the initial view of the person. You could also include types of questioning which one might receive, and provide well thought out answers to these questions, meticulously planning your words is important. There are many factors which will set you aside from the competition and, in my eyes, the initial factor would be appearance and rhetoric. Speaking clearly and directly is highly important. It's important that you stated go back in before hearing about the outcome of the interview - this will show sincere dedication to the job.

I really like this guide, it really shows what you should do at an interview, especially making eye contact, and the handshake is a very important part of an interview, with the eye contact. It's good you talked about confidence as well as that's a key factor.

I'd also say what you should put in about how you should feel before an interview, e.g. if you feel nervous etc, you should say how to fix it and what not.
