Because Finn did it himself and because Inventor brings a lot of traffic to the site.

 

I thought they were usually allowed for staff members, unless they were too drastic (maybe with the exception of nickv/you jew, but his name could have been seen as offensive) Finn only removed the "iscool" off his name, everyone still knows who he is, and Inventor did donate $200, and I think name changes are allowed to high donators

Viper's just sad because he has 0's at the end of his name.

Probably because non-staff who got name changes deserved them.

 

A.) Sythe approved my name change. I didn't just randomly change it.

B.) Inventor's name change was a mere few numbers. He's donated a great deal of money to the site, for which we are thankful. It's people like him who support the site greatly, particularly in current financial 'climate', and it's not as if his name was changed in entirety or morphed absurdly.

We don't operate absolutist policies - almost no one/nowhere does. We take a relativist approach to things. Whilst we will not change the names of anyone who simply requests it, if we decide a minor name change is justifiable, it may well be conducted. There is no absolute policy against name changes. They are generally disallowed, though there are exceptions. This is pretty obvious.

 

So in other words name changes aren't allowed unless you pay Sythe a huge load of money.
