which book is better?

I have "java how to program" and a "beginners guide to java ME platform". Does anyone know which is the better book, or does anybody know any good easy to understand books for complete a complete beginer?Also does java me platform edition even help in scripting stuff for rs? Just wondering. Thanks. Sorry for all the questions

That's a good one for beginners - I used it when I wanted to learn the basics of Java. Never read either of your two.

I used Java for dummies desktop guide... I'd use both of the books you have. Read them both and you will understand concepts better. Sometimes you won't understand the explanation of one... But you will understand the second one...

And. You can always ask questions. We don't bite.

Java helps you with RS scripting stuff for bots programmed in Java, like RSBot.

Head First Java, I'm reading it atm and it's rly good. It's written in a diff style to any programming book I've ever read, more "fun" I suppose. Lots of diagrams + puzzles to get u thinking, makes learning a lot easier imo.
