Key Binds

Ok, so Im not a big fan of PvP even though I am on one (not my choice...so meh).

I do on occasion partake in a round or two of BG's...but mainly I quest and do instances (hoping to start doing even more).

Is it worth it to key bind my 3 Big DoTs (as I am a warlock) and any other spells?

Keybind everything, even your mount

 

Key-bind Your dots similar too the letter they start with (Example C=Corruption,I=Immolate,Any letter for your curses)

 

Either that or make a macro with all of them in the same macro. That way, if you focus, you can throw all your DoTs quickly and do a fear afterward, or Fear/DoTs/Fear.

Like your "M" key brings up the map? That is in the basic form, a key bind.

 

I don't use keybinds on my warlock and I'm lvling it (yea 2 years of WoW and I don't have a lvl 80 .... PC broke.. long story)

Well I just keybinded my mount.... that's about it... maybe in PvP you might want to keybind?

 

Yeah it's worth it.

I always key bind. It's great when Raiding/PVP. Helps heaps.

 

I just 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 bash.

 

Though I don't use any keybinds, I do acknowledge that you'll rarely find extremely good players clicking.

 

OK here is some advice from a pro keybinder.

keys such as q,e,f,3,4,1,`,5,c,v are your new best friends to key bind.
as a lock i generally set mines up like

DOTS:q,e,3

fear:4

howl of terror:` ( this is basically your panic key to hit if things get tight)

shadow bolt/searing pain:r (this is a very accessible key and you should put your main spam spell in a key such as this)

this is just a very basic set up and only shows a few spells but gives you an idea of how it works. The reason i pick keys like these is because i do not need to move my hand for clicking or to reach for something like I or p which would take longer then making a slight movement of your finger from E to F.

Key binds will improve your reaction time and will help not only for pvp but you should also see an improvement in your PVE performance.

 

I like to have mine in a similar way Yashan

Q,E,R << main attacks(use WASD for walking ofc)
shift - Q,R << Q as my lesser faster heal and R as my big heal
F << Stun(HoJ)
V and shift V << oh shit buttons
G << mount

There are other essential attacks but im just showing a rough example of how I have mine set out

 

I need to learn some really good keybindings for a DK and Paladin. Even though i can faceroll my keyboard on my DK and probably kill everything in sight.
