Windows recovery is basically a tool that windows have involved into their program. It basically lets you recover previous versions of your computer, such as say you accidently delete a file, get a virus, etc, you can restore your computer to what it was like yesterday, or even further, to get it running normally again.

    Step 1:

Click on the start menu, as follows then type into the search bar "system restore."

A little notification should come up after this point, simple click "Continue," then wait 1 - 5 minutes for the screen to come up, this may take some time so be patient. After your little wait a screen similar to this should pop up.

You now have four options, which I will explain.

If you still do not understand what this tool does, simply click on "How does system restore work." For a more detailed description.

"Recommended Restore." Will restore your computer to the last thing you did on it, these include: Installing a computer game, Windows update, etc. As you can see, mine was a windows update.

Your third option is to click on choose a different restore point, If you do this screen should come up.

Make sure you've ticked the box circled in red; otherwise it will only show the last installation you've made. Now you have a choice to choose you're restore point, so choose carefully, once chosen click "Next."

A screen like this should come up.

Make sure you've selected the right restore point that you wanted, then click finish. You're computer should then restart. This process can take anywhere from 1 minute to 1 hour, depending mostly on the speed of your computer.

Common, but very useful. Although, if you use system restore too often, it may interfere with updated programs, plus deleted/removed programs.
So that may cause problems aswell.
Overall good guide, detailed with pictures 7.5/10
