    Legalize Marijuana?

I don't smoke but I am all for legalizing marijuana. It has already been thought about since the US government can put taxes on it and make a ton of money. I think within the next 20 years marijuana will be legalized in most states.

    Legalize Marijuana?

I don't think it should be allowed, it is a drug and it could get people addicted to it. People will say alcohol is like this blahah, alcohol is not as harmful to you as marajuana

Have you met an alcoholic? I would rather be a pothead than an alcoholic, at least a pothead is happy about himself.

That is not the point though. Everything, repeat: everything, is bad for you if you consume too much of it.

    Legalize Marijuana?

Where do you get your facts from? You must watch too many of the Truth commercials. Let me explain how you are completely wrong.

First, I'll start with my experience with marijuana. I've smoked for years and years, up until I got into some legal issues and had to quit on the drop of a dime. I had no problems what so ever. And you say that marijuana is more harmful than alcohol? Let's make a comparison, shall we?

On average, how many marijuana overdoses/deaths per year: There has never been a single documented marijuana overdose. The only recorded deaths close to being an overdose from marijuana, were from overdoses of THC pills, which is not even in comparison to an overdose from marijuana.

On average, how many alcohol overdoses/deaths per year: On average, 16,500 people die from drunk driving per year. Also, on average, 2,000 - 4,000 people die from alcohol overdose.

Well, that just shows how wrong you are, TobyL65.

That's exactly what my opinion is. Most of the gang violence in the world today is revolved around drugs. The legalization of marijuana would make the world a better place, no matter which way you put it.

    WOW! What a coincidence! LMAO!

    Legalize Marijuana?

Nullifying one bad thing by putting another in it's place?

Barely poetic. Though it would stop the majority of drug-based violence, it would also put a new, more wide-spread risk. The fact that since it's legal, more people will be open to doing it, and our roads/possibly streets will still be dangerous. Roads, even more so.

    Legalize Marijuana?

This is a tricky one for me. On a personal level, I am strictly against the use of drugs and alcohol, but that's just me. I'm not one to deny that marijuana has it's benefits medically, but as for the legalization, there would have to be some very strict circumstances.

One benefit is that it will be taxable, so it would greatly help the economy. However, I don't think it should be "hey, welcome to 7-11, want some weed?". I personally believe that it should be sold in regulated facilities and people should have to apply for a permit to use it (through some sort of test to show that they can be responsible under it's influences (much like a road test). Also, the age to use it should be at a minimum 21.

    Legalize Marijuana?

You're taking the words out of my mouth! People who think weed is "bad" now would most likely think that its still "bad" if it gets legalized.

The thing about most people who think weed is a terrible drug is that they've never tried it. It's like someone saying, "A ham and peanut butter sandwich is disgusting." even though they haven't tried it (ham and peanut butter sandwiches are beyond good). Back to my point though, how can you say weed is so bad, but you yourself haven't even tried it?

    Legalize Marijuana?

Marijuana is a herb. There's no nicotine or anything in it that can make you addicted. Alcohol has many harmful effects compared to marijuana. It fucks up your liver, destroys the brain, and impairs your motor skills.

Also alcohol results in thousands of people being hospitalized every single weekend and causes a lot of violence on the streets. Compare this to cannabis users who mainly stay in their homes in order to use the drug, become rather chilled out and relaxed and can't be bothered to go out causing trouble.

    Legalize Marijuana?

It really does sound disgusting, but trust me on this; heat up some ham in your microwave, put some peanut butter on a hotdog bun, put it all together and you got yourself one bomb meal!

But back to the topic, no matter which way you put it, weed is overall one of the safest "drugs" out there right now. For people who don't smoke, and are against weed, you all should watch Super High Me. You'll see what weed actually does to you and maybe you'll realize that it really isn't that bad. I'm not trying to encourage people to smoke weed, just don't try to act like you know what you're talking if you've never even tried it yourself.

    Legalize Marijuana?

I'm for legalization of all drugs.

The government is so fucking stupid it just pisses me off so much.

The reason gangs are so powerful is because of drugs. They make all their money off selling drugs and use that to buy their weapons. The reason they are able to make so much money is because they have almost no competitors since the drugs they are selling are illegal. So since the supply is low, people will be willing to pay more for these drugs so the price goes up and the dealers make more money.

With the legalization of all drugs, all criminal organizations will collapse. Imagine that.

Now you're going to say "but if all drugs are legal then everyone will do them!"

This is an idiotic assumption. Are you going to go snort coke if it was legal? Would your parents? You are assuming that laws largely affect people's actions. Laws BARELY affect what people do. Murder is illegal and punishable with life in prison, and look how many murders we have in the US. Weed and cocaine is illegal, and millions of people use these drugs in the US. There is no way a government can stop people from doing drugs, it is impossible. The best option would be for them to just make them legal and have a safe place for people to purchase them and substantially decrease crime in the country.

But then again all politicians care about is getting elected into office, and the way to get elected into office is to say what the people want to hear, and what most middle aged old people want to hear is them battling drugs etc bullshit.

    Legalize Marijuana?

I voted for it. My idea is, if cigarettes and alcohol aren't bad and aren't illegal... how is marijuana? It is actually good for you in several ways :). I'm not trying to influence anyone in anyway and I'm not responsible if you go out and get high. Sorry.

    Legalize Marijuana?

I'm for legalization. I mean have you ever seen somebody high? If you go to a party and there is a a lot of drinking, theres almost always a fight. On the other hand. If theres just people smoking, everybody just does nothing and acts retarded. The worst thing they'll do is sleep on your couch.
They also have ways to tell if you been smoking. Theres a machine you have to spit into and 60 seconds later they can tell if you've been smoking.

With legalizing it there should be just as many laws as there are with drinking, but thats obvious.

Edit: Oh and personally I don't smoke weed, not my thing.

    Legalize Marijuana?

Sure, and just to piss Sythe off, tax the hell out of it.

But honestly, absent of the whole "governments don't really exist" thing, for the moment, it can bring in some good revenue for the government, free up the prisons, destroy the profitability of underground drug cartels, reducing crime rates, and it's the least destructive drug. Just place some limits on it, like the amount you can buy, and we're good to go. Oh, and reduce the amount of tar in it if such a thing is possible.
