How to: Successfully using mousekeys

Welcome to my guide on how to use MouseKeys, questions that will be answered in this guide are as follows:

1.What are and how are MouseKeys useful to me?
2. How do I turn off and on MouseKeys
3. If useful, How do I use MouseKeys?

Answer one:

MouseKeys are a type of program that comes with any windows program purchased. In a nutshell, there sole purpose is to use your mouse to direct your mouse. Such as, using the 8 key on your numpad will move the mouse forwards, 4 will move it left sideways. There are arrows on the numpad that will show you which way is left, right, forwards and backwards and 5 is obviously the button to click. Now, most of you are already probably thinking, why would I want to use "MouseKeys" If I can use my mouse? There are many reasons as to why people use them. Possibly because the user doesn't have a mouse but the majority use MouseKeys for online games, such as runescape. They are used on runescape because of the soul fact that these keys help you drop your inventory faster, which can help in skills such as fishing and woodcutting.

Answer two:

This guide will only be for windows users; I don't have an idea how to do this on a MAC.

For Windows

1: Open up the start menu

2: After you've successfully opened the start menu, click on the control panel, which is circled in red in the above picture. You should come across a page similar to this.

3. Click the highlighted option (ease of access,) then you should come across a page similar to this.

4. Click the highlighted option (change how your keyboard works.) You should then come across a page like this.

5. First of all, tick the box that is circled in red and then click the "set up mouse keys option" circled in yellow. You then should come across a page similar to this.

6. Do the exact same setup as I have in this picture if you wish to use this for online games such as runescape, to drop inventories etc. Or you can change your settings to what you feel like, I'll go into this in more detail towards the end of the guide.

Answer 3:

MouseKeys basically function from using the num pad to the right of your keyboard. On the majority of keyboards you will notice arrows on 8, 6, 4 and 2, obviously this is how you will direct the keyboard to be your mouse. When the control button is pushed, it speeds up your mouse, depending on the speed you have chosen (explained in answer 2.) Like mentioned previously, the set up for the mouse keys that I have used are used for dropping fish when powerfishing. This may also work for dropping ore, willows, etc.

To make the MouseKeys more effective when dropping items, you need to have your hand on ctrl at all times when doing so. As explained above, when ctrl is pressed it will jump in correspondence to what speed you have chosen on the speed slide. Moving the speed slider to low causes the movement to be smaller, moving it higher causes the jump to be larger the more you slide it to the high side. So i recommend switching speeds and testing it yourself.
