Hi Sythe, This will be my guide on how to type faster.

Step 1: There are many essential tips to remember when learning how to type or type faster, but before you can even start there are a few things that are need to be kept in mind when typing. Such as; Are my feat touching the floor? Are my fingers on the home key? Is my back up vertically straight, as well as my shoulders and hip? These are all essential skills of typing. Below is the correct posture you should use to when learning to type faster.

The incorrect posture includes; slouching over the keyboard, not keeping eye contact with the desktop, not sitting up straight and elbows are not held up straight. Although these don't seem like bad things, overtime it can have an effect on your body and you could end up harming yourself in these targeted areas.

Step 2: Look at your keyboard.

The ideal Microsoft keyboard will look something like this, however different people have different keyboards.

Take a couple of minutes to look at your keyboard and the different keys that surround it, and take special notice of the home keys "f" and "j" these are crucial if you want to learn how to type faster.

Once you have studied the letters now move around to the numbers and punctuation marks, and the whole keyboard in general.

Now practise typing different sentences WITHOUT looking at your keyboard. REMEMBER TO ONLY PRACTICE ONCE YOU HAVE MEMORIZED ALL OF THE KEYS ON YOUR KEYBOARD.

    Here are some sentences you could practise writing;

    1. Effectiveness: The way or the end result of a solution, suggestion or a current campaign and the way in which it had either a negative or positive impact.

    2. Socially Just: The way in which something impacts on people throughout the currently and whether it’s just for everyone or unjust.

3.Ecologically sustainable: the way in which a campaign has an effect on our environment and whether or not it has had a negative, positive or sustainable impact.

When practising these sentences remember, Are my fingers returning to the home key at the end of each sentences? And most importantly have I got the correct posture?

    Step 3: Typing fast

Once you are sure you have memorized and have the correct posture of typing, then view below.

Althought there are many ways that you can learn how to type I've listed below the ways that I think are overall most effective.

    1. Practice writing sentences.
    2. Increase the amount of time spent on msn, MySpace etc; these help you learn how to type faster.
    3. Once you've gained confidence test yourself on an online website, such as www.typingtest.com
    4. Everyday compare yourself to this website and see how far you've come along.
    5. Consider buying a program such as Type Quick, to teach you how to type.

This is how I did the fast time I ever took a typing test.
