Should homosexuals have the right to get married?

I'm not positive about this, since i have not completely read the bible, only parts.... but does it plainly come out and say "thou shall not engage in homosexual acts"? It seems it's mostly to interpretation in my opinion.


edit: also, I am not overruling him, please show me where I said "I don't care what God thinks, what I think goes!". until you have proof that I am trying to overrule him, please don't try to be less unfriendly in your posts =)

I don't see anything wrong with gays getting married, let them be who they want to be. I'm not going to stop a homosexual person from getting married. Although, I'm not with the whole homosexual thing. I just personally don't care whether they get married or not, cause it doesn't effect me one bit.

Marriage is the signing of a legal document too say that people are "together". As they are already a couple is it really that big of a deal too sign a god damn piece of paper too make them happy. This is the law not the fucking bible.

Except that the marriage of two members of the same sex is morally WRONG. If some of us were intended to be homosexuals, then how come men can't become pregnant or have ovaries? And how come women can't fertilize with sperm or have testicles?

There have been studies with animals to see if they would mate with the same sex, and the results were that they wouldn't. Having gay sex is not natural, it was not what we were intended to do. Sexual intercourse with the opposite sex is proper because in doing this, we are creating something and it is what the natural order was intended for.

I obviously wouldn't say that gays can't get married...I have no say in that. That is up to them and their conscience. But personally I think it is wrong.

No they should not. Why because it goes against nature, The human population was not designed to be gay as such. The idea of being homosexual comes from an inbalance in the x and y genes that build up a persons sex during birth.

I would argue that the passage you are referring to is in reference to HETEROsexual men sleeping with other men. The sin truly, in my interpretation, is lust. It is not two legitimate homosexual men engaging in loving partnership. Again, that is my interpretation. Furthermore, no instance in the bible in which it mentions homosexual sex where it is not in direct reference to heterosexuals doing so, not legitimate homosexuals. The sin is LUST.

Please if you're going to say something, at least research the topic.

You are clearly ignorant because there are NUMEROUS reports of animals engaging in homosexual behavior. The difference here is that what is NATURAL for you (I.e. intended in nature) is different that what is natural say for someone else. I can guarantee that if you try to build and argument on it being morally wrong and/or against nature, you will fail.

If this were true, which I would need evidence, then you would agree that it is something you are BORN with. Therefore, who are you to say they can't marry? It isn't their own fault according to your logic and it is unfair, unjust, and immoral to deny those rights.

Gay marriage should be allowed. It doesn't even have to be marriage. If I love someone of the same sex, I'd want to have all of the benfits as a normal couple.


the bible also says things like "Don't eat shellfood" or "don't plant more than one seed in a hole." We don't go to drastic measures to make sure these things don't happen.

Yes I'm gay. Yes I'd like to get married. And as long as you're allowed to eat shrimp, I should be able to get married.
