Do you believe Global Warming is real?

    Yes or no?
I have no idea if it is real or not real.

I'm not voting on this poll because I don't want to influence anyone's decision.

Do you believe Global Warming is real?

To what extent. You can't deny the Earth might be getting warmer, but is it because of pollution? Or is it natural. I believe that we might make a small difference, but for the most part it is just natural.

For what reason? Do you believe this because the earth is indeed getting warmer? Have you looked at Antarctic ice core data which shows that the Earth goes through cycles of "hot and cold"? We are coming up to the very peak of one of these cycles, incidentally, and I can fairly confidently estimate that the Earth will become drastically colder in the next few hundred years.

Global warming is real but I don't think it's all down to us. There is evidence/proof that it has happened naturally in the past so why would it be any different now?

Some teacher of mine didn't believe in global warming.
    I do though.
His explanation was something like this.
He thinks that global warming is caused by the sun. More sun activity and it gets warmer here. More CO² stuff made by something in the sea. He think's we cause it too, but we can't help it. Because every time we breath we give CO².
He also said this is untrue because we had "Global Cooling" 30 years ago.

Do you believe Global Warming is real?

Human-induced global warming is real, according to a recent U.S. survey based on the opinions of 3,146 scientists. However there remains divisions between climatologists and scientists from other areas of earth sciences as to the extent of human responsibility.
A survey of more than 3,000 scientists found that the vast majority believe humans cause global warming.
Against a backdrop of harsh winter weather across much of North America and Europe, the concept of rising global temperatures might seem incongruous. However the results of the investigation conducted at the end of 2008 reveal that vast majority of the Earth scientists surveyed agree that in the past 200-plus years, mean global temperatures have been rising and that human activity is a significant contributing factor in changing mean global temperatures.

What the hell is the point of copying and pasting news articles if you're not even going to cite your information?

Do you actually hve a personal view on the matter, or do you simply find it easier to parrot CNN?

I think you may have quoted the wrong person... but I'll give it a shot anyways. The world as a whole IS getting warmer. This is undispuatable - satellite infrared scanners can measure temperature globally +- degrees to the decimals. Ice cap measurements also support this conclusion.

In all likelihood, global warming probably is human caused. Heat is a simple function - absorbed heat, reflected heat, and initial heat entering atmosphere. All 3 can be categorically analyzed. From there, we know that we are absorbing more heat than we have before, and then we know to analyze the atmosphere. Yes, Co2 is a poor greenhouse gas, but water vapor and methane haven't varied much... So then you look out the sources of Co2...

In conclusion though, I don't see anything disastrous in the future. Gasoline is running out - that's going to be the limiting factor (though I suppose coal production will continue for a few more centuries).

Do you believe Global Warming is real?

Well, no. It would be either be neutral or somewhat contradictory.

You also have to keep in mind that most major weather changes occurred over thousands of years, not decades. There are a few exceptions (like major volcanoes eruptions)....

It's not real. The need to quit polluting is huge but global warming is a huge over-reaction to something small. We had record LOW temperatures where I live this summer. Global warming is making such a huge impact on my community.(Sarcasm bitch.)

Global warming is real. The question is whether or not it's man made. You may have "record" low temperatures, but that's the last what, 2-300 years? That's nothing in the scale of global temperature fluctuations.

Also, what significance is your local temperature?

Today it's global warming, next it's 2012(Does global warming even matter if 2012 is correct?) Then it's swine flu or some other disease, an asteroid, volcano, humans themselves. Global warming will most likely play a small part if any in the destruction of our world.

I'm betting on either a disease or nuclear war. Once the bio-terrorist get their hands on the smallpox disease.(Which can be put into aerosol cans now) I think we're going to see a major disaster that will leave people careless about global warming.

Death is a natural process as well. Does it mean that people do not kill each other? No. Does it means there's necessary correlation? No.

    1. Why were scientists freaking out about the sun not producing 'hot-spots' for a short period (not sure the exact time span).
    2. I have to believe that humans are a larger factor in the CO² production (this goes back to Industrial Revolution times, not just now).
    3. Every time a tree goes through photosynthesis it produces oxygen, removing CO², thus rendering that a stalemate.
Obviously, I do believe it's happening. It's not like this came out of nowhere and blind sided us. We've known since the Industrial Revolution that releasing CO² wasn't good for the environment. This is why reducing pollution isn't going to drastically change anything in the short run, it'll take hundreds or thousands of years to dilute the amount of CO² that we've put in the atmosphere.

It's real. people are just illiterate scientifically and not accepting responsibility or making effort to do anything about it. In a century or two our kids will be facing the consequences.
