The Sythe MMORPG

The idea of it was stupid if you weren't going to do anything with it. You got everyones hopes up. People donated MONEY. What is happening to the MMO? Nothing it's like it never happened. Everyone offered up ideas, left you comments on your original thread. My thing is, take it down before 500 more people post on it and waste there time. None of you know what you're doing when it comes to game design and programming, well i wouldn't say ALL of you but most of you probably haven't made a game engine in your lives, and will probably take someone elses generic engine or buy one without doing any real work yourselves when it comes down to it.

Now I'm not mad. I'm not being a dick (hopefully not coming off as one). But there is no point in having people basically spamming a thread with ideas that in the end will have no say.

If you say you're going to make one then make one, me and my friends are currently making one. Very difficult. It's been over 6 months and the engine is STILL being coded in C++.

So what i'm saying is, if you are going to get started, you better get started now, if that won't be the case please take down or close the thread, it's just wasted effort on the users behalf.

Trust me, i could of been a lot harsher about it. It just annoys me seeing that thread gravedug every month and then posted on for 3 days.

I know it's not hurting me any, but why have it there? It's a thread that serves no purpose. If you actually think that in the near future it will be worked on, then even you hold high hopes for nothing.

I wasn't a dick, i'm not mad, because again it isn't hurting me. It's just seeing all those users throwing ideas around, users have DONATED. So that sythe could do nothing with the idea.

I think it's pretty pointless. Might as well take it down before more people donate on something that won't ever exist.

The MMO will most likely never be created just like the cheat pack that the "official programmers" (which included me) were supposed to be working on a while ago.

In reality, it is extraordinarily hard to organize a group project so massive over the internet and once one person loses interest it's hard on everybody to pick up the slack.

Novel idea, though.

 

Thanks for all the support. Again i wasn't trying to be a dick, it just doesn't make any sense. Your right it's really hard for game creation. Right now as said i'm creating my game, it's taking so long. Alot of staff loses interest, so the Programmers and Designers have to work 2 times as hard to bring soemthing new to the table to make the others more motivated. In order to create a game you need dedicated people making it.

 

I support it being temporarily locked to prevent spam, but I think Sythe has plans for it in the future.

would it not be abused? a game played mainly by cheats
