Ps3 internet help?

Not sure if this is the right board to post it on, but you can change if you need to, I apologize now.

Ok here it is.

I'm taking the Ethernet cable out of my computer and putting in my ps3, My ps3 says there is a DNS error. Does anyone have a solution for this?

I can give more details.

My ip connects by the way, the internet doesn't.

 

On your thing, do not take anything out.
Take the Internet cable out only.
Or put the ps3 cable in another slot, it works like that.
Or replace it with the Internet one.
Works like that.

 

I'm not too familiar with PS3 but are you sure your network settings are correct on your console?

If they're on automatic then you probably don't need to worry about it but I see no other reason why the DNS on the PS3 would randomly not work if your computer etc is working fine..

You do know that you can connect to the internet via wireless?

That would make things a lot easier.

As for this problem, I suggest you turn off all your computers and PS3, unplug the modem for 30 seconds-1 minute. Plug it back in, wait about 2 minutes, and it should be good to go.

 

I take the Ethernet from computer, I dont need to turn the computer off.

 

Go to internet settings or whatever and make sure that your connection is set to "wired" and not "wireless", thats the problem i had.
