Any suggestions for me? I'm currently 175 looking to get down to about 150-155. I don't drink soda at all unless I'm out somewhere.

Just run lots and cut the calories down in your diet...

If you can't be assed to cut the calories down, just run, walk instead of drive etc.

I'm quite lucky as i have a high metabolism, for anyone that doesn't know, that means i could eat lots, it would possibly effect my health but hardly ever my weight.

However my mate joe is the opposite but is still quite skinny, how?
this is not recommened but hey it works. Whenever he ffels hungry, he smokes, he only eats when he is craving a food. Also when he is out drinking or at home drinking he drinks spirits, this gets you more drunk and is a lot less fattening than other drinks such as lager/alcohol.

    good luck.

Thats good mat, soda is full of processed sugar which is quickly used and not very effective. This rule goes the same with white bread and pasta or anything made with bleached white flower. When white bread or white flour products are being made the flower is bleached so that it gains a longer shelf life inside and outside the stores. This destroys almost 60% of all nutrients inside of the bread leaving it a empty source of carbohydrates. This means that when you use them they will quickly dispense their energy which raises your blood glucose and insulin levels, when insulin levels rise this means your body is not burning the sugar fast enough and insulin turns the left over carbohydrates and calories, fat Ect.. Into energy which is stored inside of triglycerides the most common type of fat in the blood stream, which are then stored inside fat cells.
So in short terms try eating foods with a low glycemic index such as Whole grains, whole wheat bread and pasta are a alternative to white pasta and bread but they also taste a lot better as well as a lot better for you. Fruits are pure sugar but they raise your insulin and blood glucose levels very little so feel free to indulge.
For the protein side of your diet, egg whites skinless chicken breast and turkey meat will be your best friend in the poultry department. As for non-meat products, penut butter and any sort of nut or seed will have a good ammount of protein as well as omega-3 fatty acids which are essential to brain growth as well as high in protein. Any type of fish will be packed full of protein, especially salmon with its famous omega 3 fatty acids and vitamin b-12. Omega-3 fatty acids reduce inflammation and help prevent risk factors associated with chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and arthritis.

i agree with 1 def. Whenever i get hungry, i go out for a smoke. And my appetite is gone. Working out on top is really good too. Also, eat fruits and vegetables as much as u can. If u dont feel like running or working out in the summer take a course during school. Like weight training/regular gym class then you will be fine

Well first off skipping a meal when your hungry will do nothing but make you fat(er). Second off, weight lifting doesnt burn nearly enough calories to work off half of what you have left after your body uses up whatever it needs. However weightlifting is a part in weight loss as muscle weighs more then fat, therefore its heavier to move and when you have large muscles weight loss will be easier.

    That's somewhat true.

Not entirely true since you can't gain muscle and loose weight at the same time.
To gain muscle you must first of all eat healthy and all that, but also be consuming more calories than your loosing. To loose weight you must be burning more calories than you consume.

I do agree, however, that weightlighting helps reduce fat.

In answer to the first quote, as alot of people know when you skip meals, next time you eat your blood glucose level will go way up and if you don't burn off the extra sugar soon enough the insulin will store it in triglycerides and will be stored in fat cells for future use. That's why people say to eat 6 times a day. It lowers your BG slightly but more often which leads to better metabolism.
To the second quote i was trying to point out the common theory that a lot of the teens believe that weight lifting is going to make you skinny, i wonder to my self if alot of overweight people begin lifting weights first then slim down because its easier with the added muscle.

I hope you aren't serious. Thats a very very unhealthy way to lose weight.

Your body will shut down its metabolism and once you start eating again anything you put in your face will turn right to belly fat.

Seriously. Not to mention you will lose a lot of muscle that way, which is a very metabolically active tissue so it will be hard to stay at the weight you get down to. Far better to just cut your calories a bit below maintenance and add some cardio in.
