Think about this, it will take some serious thinking..unless your very smart.

Lets say I clone myself, my clone has the same objective on mind as me.

I buy a time machine that allows me to travel back in time to whatever time I want.

Before we go into the time machine we agree to meet in central park by the big fountain.

I set the date on the time machine to April 14th 1986.

I walk into the time machine

I am in 1986.

My clone sets the date on the time machine to September 14th 1989

He walks into the time machine

He is in 1989

Is it possible for us to both meet? Seperate universes? Can a universe collide? To much thinking for the spam forum?

 

Your clone will meet your earlier self (not the one who went back into the time machine) but you in the past.

 

You told your clone to meet him in central park by the big fountain, but the time machine doesn't know that.

You can probably go back into time, but it might send you to another city, country, world, dimension, etc.

Although, the time machine could stay in the exact same place as you set the time; kind of like on the tv shows.

I don't know if a universe could collide, but if it were possible, it would take more than a trillion human years.

its not possible, he is 3 years ahead of you, so although he would wait 3 years for you, your clone would then be in the same location for 3 years, so by the time you reach 1989 to meet your clone, your clone would then be in central park in 1992.

 

What if we both took cell phones? Would I be able to call him?

 

nah cos he is three years ahead of you, so when you call him the cell phone number has not even been made yet, (assuming you both aqquired your cell phones before entering the time machine) if you didnt get the cell phones before entering the time machine there would be absolutely no way for you two to get each others numbers. HOWEVER, if you for example could somehow leave a permanent massage at the location in 1986, he could read it in 1989, if you was to leave a message i'd suggest 'stupid clone, your 3 years ahead of me, travel 3 years to the past and ill buy you a hotdog lololololol'

 

nope, because you're in one dimension, while he's in another. so technically, he's non existent.

ooooor, maybe you can both go into the time portal, but there are two different dimensions because the time portal might not throw you two in the same dimension.
So you can both be in 1989 in the same place on earth, but you won't see each other.

cos your in 2 different dimensions, but i have no idea of how the whole concept of dimensions come into this.

im pretty confident i've solved this, quite an achievement for me :')

 

No I mean if we both went back into 1986 whats stopping us from seeing eachother..

 

if you both went to the same date and same time then theres nothing stopping you, if your clone wnet even one second before you though then there sno way you could see him, he's constantly be 1 second ahead of you, however if you was ahead of him he'd wait for you by the bi fountain in central park

 

Well there is no form of time travel at the moment, so niether is possible. But if you did, I personally believe you would meet up since your present state is 3 years before your clone, you would meet up with your clone in 3 years. If you need a better explanation just post. Im watching tv at the moment so my thoughts aren't clear.

 

If he was one second of ahead of me would he be in a different tangent/dimension?

 

he'd be in a seperate dimension i think, it would be like hes locked in time one second ahead of you, so you'd always miss him by exactly one second if you understand what im saying

 

So what if time machines were created for the use of all humans. Would there be billions of dimensions. Is the universe capable of that? The universe? What does a dimension fall under?

 

if time machines were created and you wanted to be taken back in time WITH someone, they'd have to enter that time period at exactly the same time and date as you, otherwise there is no way for you to contact them, unless there in the future and you send them messages as mentioned before, however if you both go BACK to the time period you came from you would just as you were before you stepped into the time machine, unless you did something in the past which altered present events that would effect you.
