Oh great, looks like it is starting. Everyone will be trying to sell at minimum price now. Domino effect.

Well, just give it a month or so and the prices will be a lot lower. I've already sold a lot of my items and i'm going to wait to re-buy them once they are lower! :)

    Yeah totally.

I've sold basically all my high demand items and now am waiting to buy them back for possibly even half the price.

    I'm keeping everything.

Summer crash or not, the 76k trick is pumping in so much cash, I don't think the summer crash will be as predictable as usual.

    We shall see.

if you wanna know what up with those prices ask jagex fur fucking up there own economy so badly. sometimes i think they have no clue of what they are doing.
Making mistakes rookie game designers would never make.
    They even nerf items.
Bleu party hat goes down 200mill+ but then suddenly purple party hat goes up with 50mill it makes no sense!

Summer crash is a result of idiots all believing the myth. They work to react to it, and then it actually happens,.
True a lot of people have more time to pk now, so the buy more claws. But then when summer is over, there will be less pkers, and less people killing tormented demons for those claws.
If the rs community weren't so full of idiots the prices would remain constant. Less demand, but less supply too.

    This is true.
And less people will hunt for hilts, so there will be less hilts flooding into the GE.

    This.

I'm going to do the same thing, and was already plotting on doing so several weeks ago when I heard about it.

    Summer Crash

Combat related armour and weapons will crash relatively early as a lot of people seem to finally understand the Grand Exchange and those items have fluctuated throughout the year. I'd predict some time late August or September as people will know that they're going to have to eventually sell these items but will also be aware that its most beneficial for them to sell before the items begin crashing - ironically that mindset will cause the crash. Its similar to stock markets internationally, some brokers will sell off their stock amid fears of downturns and that will have a carry over affect upon the entire market. I have a few friends that are already starting to sell of some of their items for a repurchase in early October.

Good thing I sold my crap ages ago, skilling is stable (rc supplies and crap) but its hella boring!!!

This year due to the pvp drop system cash in the economy it will crash,no matter what (my personal opinion)

Have you seen the price of rares recently??
All masks had a 3M+ jump today.
I hope they crash back down real low, greens around 9M again so i can buy a few and wait till next summer.
But i think that the prices are being jacked up so high that when ppl go back to school and the crash happens, it will be less severe.
    (i hope not )

I'm waiting for the major GS crash to cash in on that.

Silly people starting the crash a week before it will happen means a fucked up crash (if that's even possible). Prices are dropping now and they will drop by a fuckload in a week as well.

Is there always some "summer crash"?

Why have people been expecting this so much?

It happens every year and everyone always waits for it. It's the best time of year for bargain shopping. It's like a 50% sale at your favorite clothing store!

    Summer Crash

    It's over, so it seems.

I would surmise to say that it didn't truly occur this year. Every major item that was falling is now going back up at a 90-degree angle. Usually this crash causes items to be worthless for 3-4 weeks. This lasted 3 days.

    This is my prediction:

Until Jagex somehow fixes the 76k drop method, the prices with all "major" items are done being stable for more than a day.

At this rate, we will most likely see 4-5 days of a climb, then either a flat-line or small drop, followed by another 4-5 day climb. Eventually, this will render most items at such high prices, they become unobtainable to all but those either 76king themselves, or the super-wealthy.

I personally started doing some PvP myself this last week, and making 3-6m a day with litte effort is simple, and I can now see why all of this is happening at such a fast rate. It is easy to see that 25000 to 45000 people doing this every single day can easily cause permanent damage in an economy that was simplistic for so many years.

Personally, I have all of the items I deem to make the game "fun," so I don't really care about prices anymore. I am interested to see how this all plays out.
