How To Make A Runescape Server!!!!

Ok, so many people use these guides and most of the time, they get stuck somewhere. I know what that is like, since I was once one of you people. But then I managed to fix up bits that didnt work and now I can make a server in like 20 seconds. But to code and stuff like 15-20 mins. No I will not make you a server, it dosnt work like that and I have to run my own server so I won't run yours aswell. I might do some coding for you (say you downloaded Allstar-Scape everything would say Welcome to allstar scape! Owner is Mod Allstar! If you dont know how to change get teamveiwer and I will do it

Ok.. You WILL Need

JDK - http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
No-Ip - http://www.no-ip.com/
A Source - http://www.moparscape.org/smf/index.php/board,49.0.html (over 80 pages of them)
Hamachi (if you cant portforward, ill explain the best i can) - https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi/list.asp

Now start the download for JDK as this may take a few mins, so we can get stuff done while we wait.

Ok, lets get down to buisness. Get your source and download it. To check it runs ok, find something like Run.bat or Runeserver.bat or Start.bat or Initialize.bat or something like that. If it says something like Allstar scape ONLINE! (allstar scape just an example) then your server is working fine.

So thats the source. Now we need a No-ip. So go there register, and download it. Then go to the homepage and click Manage Your Accout (top right) Click add a host. Type in your server name (something like 1337Scape (mine lol)) Leave the bullet points alone. Then type your IP. Your IP should be there as a default but make sure it matches the IP on your no-ip and at the top of the No-ip webpage. then click add host (att teh bottom) Now go to the No-ip thing on your taskbar, open it, right click on it, click Refresh Host list. Congrats! You now have a No-ip!

Right, Source, No-ip, what else..? Oh yes, portforwarding. Some of you may be like Ughhh I Can't Port forward. But trust me, its so easy. i have a speedtouch router so I'll explain it like that, most other routers are simalar so it shouldnt matter. To get to your router, 1st you have to go to start>run>cmd>ipconfig then find your Ethernet Default gateway. Type that into your Address bar and if it asks for name and pass put it in. If you dont know it try Admin - chicken. Admin - admin. Admin - blank. Admin - (NO PASS) there may be others they're just some i know. Go to toolbox, then game or application sharing. Add a new game or application. put in the port range 43594-43594 and translate to 43594 leave the rest. call it whatever you want. then assign it to a network device. in the 1st dropdown menu put the game or applicationj you just made and in the 2nd one click user defined then pur your IP. Now for the bit people dont tell you, go to Dynamic DNS and enable it, for Username put your email you used for no-ip, for password, well thats fairly obvious, then for service put no-ip. Then restart your router.

Portforwarding. DONE!!

By now jdk must be downloaded. Go to start>my computer>local disc C>program files>java>jdk1.6.0_15 (yours may be something other than 15, the latest is 16 so it would say that) If you see that file then your done.

now to check that its online.... go here: http://www.runelocus.com/?action=statuscheck put your server in (the no-ip you made earlier) click go and if it says online then congrats! (make sure your server is online when you do this)

Now for the simple coding. Close down the server miniute because you know it works, open client.java and search for the server name. not your one, the one you downloaded. i used a StabbingScape source so i had to search stabbingscape and change it all to 1337Scape. Then if you want to change the starter, search ("starter")

There ya go! A working server!

Please post any questions you have or if you cant do something. If you have the sources client there may be some problems, like armour going into the wepon slot. like alot of servers have Lava armour but it all goes into the weapon slot, if thats happening i will gladly fix it for you

EDIT: After you have downloaded JDK you have to install it. Go to my computer, then search in the C drive for jdk. Then one thing will show. Open that and install it.

EDIT: Also when you have edited your server, you need to compile it otherwise the changes wnt take effect. To compile your server just find the file called Compile.exe or something like that. (thanks :.:Blurry:.: for reminding me )

Great guide, although there's alot of writing, it could bore some readers..

Add some pictures! Especially for the port forwarding part as many find that the hardest. :s

www.portforward.com is a great site dedicated to doing it, and they have guides for most modems/routers out there. You could add it do your guide.
