Duplicate CD Key

So on my old steam account I bought 1.6 from the retail store and added it on that account. Now I have a new one and I want to add my 1.6 to my account. But I get the Duplicate CD key message, is there any way I can get passed that like logging into my old account and uninstalling 1.6 so the CD key works on this account?

 

No. Your CD key is bound to your account when used, and cannot be used on another account.

 

that information is correct there is no way to change it through accounts sorry.
