Sony has announced the new PS3 Slim, it's a lot smaller and it also isn't shiny.

The main feature "Other OS" has been taken off, goodbye linux.

Honestly, I am going to get a slim aswell. I own a ps3 right now, (My xbox broke, go figure..) Did you know? xbox360 has a 54% fail rate!!!

That's the why they have this nice little option that allows you to get a new, or fix your xbox.

Anyways I'm getting me a PS3 For christmas this year,Hopefully it has less 12-year olds,who screech over the mic if they get killed.

 

Yeah, there are no little annoying kids screaming through the mic "HEADSHOT" on the ps3. It's more of the older people who actually act normal.

It's been shown that PlayStation 3 is better value for money no matter how you look at it, and the PS3 slim has essentially the same (if not better) specifications of an Xbox 360 Elite console for half the price. Not to mention the games library of the PS3 is extremely diverse, whereas with the Xbox a huge amount of it is spent on Halo, and Halo is honestly one of the most boring franchises I've ever seen.

I might actually save up and buy one due to the decreased price. I've recently bought a used PS2 slim just to play the Final Fantasy titles, that didn't work for $100 (returning it for full refund) so I've already got a nice deposit on it. It also means I'll be able to play FF13 when it comes out

In any case, the Xbox 360 is quite overrated. There are certain aspects of the PS3 which are overrated as well, don't get me wrong, but the Xbox 360 isn't as good as people make it out to be.

 

I figure this by playing Halo 3 on Xbox live which totally kicks ass. I haven't found any game on PS3 that can even come close to the popularity or gameplay of Halo 3. However, I admit that if it wasn't for Halo 3, I, and millions of others would probably choose PS3 over Xbox360. Call of Duty isn't half bad on PS3 but you can get it on Xbox360 too... :huh:

The only popularity Halo 3 has are the all the little 12 year olds that had there mummy buy them a 360.

PS3 also has a game that is a lot better the Halo 3, well if you aren't 12.

 

Are you serious? I've always found Halo online to be the most boring FPS I've ever played, and I've played a LOT of boring games. Not to mention it's on a goddam console, and FPS on a console is absolute shit when it comes to control mechanisms.

Overall PlayStation has a more enjoyable library of games for a wider audience, once you get bored of the Halo franchise (like I did about a year after getting my original Xbox >_>) you begin to appreciate that. The PlayStation games library is very diverse, and it has a LOT of games. The Xbox games library revolves around overhyped games such as Halo, Fable, and Gears of War.

The PlayStation 3 is also an entertainment system rather than simply a console. It's useful in more ways than playing games I hope you realise.

In any case, upon discovering the PS3 slim can't play PS2 games due to Sony deciding to be dicks about it, I figure I'll save up for the original PS3. The PS3 Slim is a kick in the balls to any Final Fantasy fans >_<

 

Ps3 slim is too much like the ps2 imo. I would rather them have the big original ps3 than have a mini. It's stupid I think.

 

I think most Halo players never tried KillZone Two.

Metal Gear Solid Four got ten out of ten from IGN, so that's good.
