it sounds like she is just a friend. if you have known her since you are 5, it seems she is just doing what a friend for many years does. knowing someone for that long w/o ever kissing or anything else indicates that you are just friends.
i've known a friends for a long time too and have poked, hugged, wrestled, slapped their butts, etc. but never was it sexual.
i would try to ease my way into it, sensing her feelings, before asking her out.

 

I had something similar happen. If she means as much to you as you say she does, she must be fairly nice (I would hope), so I don't see how she would be like "Dude fuck off I don't want to talk to you anymore" just because you say you like her.

I told the girl I'm talking about I like her, and asked her out. She said no, but she was also okay with it. We're still like best friends now, sooo yea.

I was kind of embarassed when she said no, and apologized to her.. and she said "You don't get to pick who you love" which is true. Just keep that in mind. If she holds the fact that you like her against you, then she's probably not too good of a friend to begin with.

Man, just chill with her and if she really does like you, then she'll keep conversations goin'. If shes just a friend, she'll kinda keep to herself. Unless shes shy. What you really gotta do is ask her opinion on seeing a movie together. Just getting a "yes" would be the first sign. Once you're in there just wait until you think its the right time and ASK if holding hands would be a bad idea.

Basically... You just gotta have the balls to come out and ask really far out questions. If you get a no, then you get a no. Its not the end of the world, just say, ok, then lets just be friends and move on. You'll never know until you try.

Btw... Girls (expecially my fiance) always say that they find the most convincing thing in a guy is their ability to just say what they're thinking and ask whatever is on their minds.
This means, if you wanna know if she likes you, find ways to just ask. Its unattractive to find a guy who is all emo about things. Girls love to talk, and if you talk back, you're the perfect one.

I don't think anyone could say with the information given here. To tell though, compare how she acts around you compared to other guys. Do this as honestly as you can because it could be hard. If your the only guy she's touching then you're probably in, but less likely if it's not.
