    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis

tl;dr: You can't move for a few seconds right after you wake up, and you may have realistic hallucinations.

It's happened to me consistently every morning for the past 2 or 3 years. I also have lucid dreams frequently, and I am able to force myself to wake up with some effort - though, only to find myself in a (terrifying) state of sleep paralysis in the middle of the night, for a few minutes before I go right back to sleep.

You can get this while your trying to sleep too.
I've had it a few times, I tried to actually make it fun, so I wouldn't freak out.

I try to induce lucid dreams as much as possible, I've only had one my whole life.

You could get it checked by doctors, or try to make the most fun out of it as possible :S

I have and love lucid dreams. I enjoy them so much because I know it is a dream and yet it seems so real. I always wake up sweeting after I have one.

I love them, but can never seem to get enough lol xD, it happens really rarely to me, but usually what happens is it feels like I'm falling or something and I can't get up lol, like falling into a huge black hole, it's freaky lol.

I've had a few instances. It's not very common for me, but when I get it, it lasts for a long time.

Dreams seem long but in reality your mind creates full dreams in matters of minutes or even seconds.

    Does anyone have sleep paralysis?

I posted a topic on this a while ago, during school I get it alot. Once I think I topped out a 6 times in one night, its not fun time, most the time during school I get it about 5-10 times a week, during summer its about once every couple weeks or so.

Like you, I have had it so much I know how to get myself out of it within the first few seconds of it happening. Its terrible though, I really can't stand it.

It happens to me just before I fall asleep, it never happens to me when I wake up. Everyone has it differently though, that has to suck to get it waking up.

That's crazy! I've never heard of sleep paralysis. Personally I'd be terrified not being able to move, even if it's for a few seconds.

As for lucid dreams, I've had a few and wish I could have more. Flying is usually what I do in them. :)

    Does anyone have sleep paralysis?

I used to get night terrors (where you wake up screaming and panting being so scared) and now I have nightmares so often that if I'm going through a rough patch in a dream, I can wake up automatically. It happened one time in a semi lucid dream too. >:O

I wish I had lucid dreams xD

That's pretty cool. Can you move your eyes when this is happening? I'd imagine it would be terrifying not being able to move.

    Does anyone have sleep paralysis?

Never had Sleep Paralysis before, although it seems very strange. I'll probably read the length of the article eventually, but not at the moment, I'm doing a bit of research.

I keep hearing alot of talk in regards to lucid dreams; what are these? And how do you know if you have lucid dreams, how do you induce them, etc., etc.
If anyone can help me, I'd very much appreciate it, because I'm too lazy to Google anything right now. They sounds very interesting, and I'd love to learn more about them.

    Does anyone have sleep paralysis?

I was just doing that, I read HeavenLord's guide, it was extremely helpful. I was 99% positive I was going to do everything there to have a Lucid Dream, but then I read the details about sleep paralysis, and read more about it in the article. Now I'm thinking twice, I'd rather not have frightening hallucinations for unpredictable amounts of time and not be able to move.

    Does anyone have sleep paralysis?

I've had it a couple of times, once for a solid five minutes and I couldn't sleep because I was freaking out. When I was little I used to sleep walk while having lucid dreams, so i'd have like a crocodile at the bottom of the stairs and a grizzly bear in my closet.

Naw lucid dreaming should be fine because you control the dream. The only reason I think sleep paralysis would be scary because you can't move, being completely vulnerable.

Sleep paralysis for me doesn't _always_ have hallucinations. They don't scare me anymore, either.

omg, I get that falling thing a lot too! But is that considered a lucid dream? I don't think I've had one, I want to know what it is like... but I've always had times when I feel like I'm falling. When I wake up I'm usually sweating.
