[Prouds Guide] How to Optimize your ram!

I recently came to a problem while running my bots for runscape because they keep freezing and come to find out a lot of my ram was going to waste. This guide will tell you what you can do you help give you that ram where its needed thanks for reading.

Step 1: Click start at the bottom left of screen. Then click Control Panel.
Step 2: click Switch to Classic View
Step 3: Double Click System icon.

Step 4: Click the Advanced tab.

Step 5: under performance section click advanced options.
step 6: Click visual effects tab and click adjust for best performance.

Step 7: Click the advanced tab.
Step 8: In the Virtual Memory section click change.(window should pop up)
Step 9: Click the little button for custom.
Step 10:Type 2048 for initial size and 4096 for max.


Also to save ram you can turn off items from starting up when you reboot your computer.

Step 1: Hit Start then run.
Step 2: Type msconfig.

Step 3: click start up tab.

Step 4: un select any thing you do not want to start up when you boot computer.
Step 5: Close out and reboot computer
Step 6: A screen will pop up when you load computer click do not show again and close it out

Finally you need to find out what programs are using most ram!
1: Hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete
2: Right click the button that says memory usage. If your computer does not have that then you can look to the far right to find out how it it is using.
3: click it then hit end process!

Other Tips!
1. Use older version of MSN to reduce ram use.
2. Scan comp regularly.
3. Defrag your computer.

Good job I put 10 gigs of virtual memory awhile ago on my computer but had I not found it crysis woudl have been a pain. Even with 4 gigs of ram I find virtual helps a shitload.

 

I've seen this somewhere before but I'm not 100% sure where. I'll see if I find it anywhere, good effort though.

 

Sometime`s you get multiple of the same process running at the same which wastes your ram. so if you clean out the duplicates you`ll be running faster.

 

Commonly known, but good guide. It does help slightly.

 

Tip: Google processes you see on the task manager like *.exe.
