Hey,

I've just got a question about account recovery, I'm interested in buying one of these Ironman accounts with 'No email set'. Would this really matter when recovering an account? would the person who purchases the account have a chance at recovering if the account was lost?

In short, you can read:

Accounts are ALWAYS recoverable, even with a Middleman/Recovery Test!

Account owners will always be able to recover the account. Creation is king!

Creation matters. Jagex knows what device you created the account on, what time, what I.P the account was created on, and knows what accounts are associated with it!

A lot of accounts are getting banned (produced by account sellers) solely to the fact that they are created by account sellers themselves. Check Mod Tyran/Mod Twisted twitter page!

I'm not sure where I read this from, but in short... do not be lulled into a false sense of security by those that sell accounts with no email attatched. To my knowledge there even is a method (working as of July 2021) to unlink your existing account with any email.

Your best call to action is to buy from a trusted and reputable account seller. That's the beginning, middle and end of it

Having your email as the "first email" on the account certainly helps strengthen your claim to ownership of the account if you were to get into a recovery war. That alone won't do it though. As others have said, the creator typically can always recover the account, especially if it is from the same laptop/pc with the same IP as when he created it. Sure, if you own the account for a year, have the first email, have a bunch of membs pins, have the first password, and creation info, you might have a leg up. However, most who sell a ton of accounts don't give out the creation information anymore.

 

In both buying from trusted and non-trusted Sythe users, it does not matter. It is more of a placebo than anything. I just assume that original owners can always recover an account. Buy from trusted sythe members and you will not have an issue of an account getting recovered!

 

Do you just give up on a account if it turns into a recovery war? what can the original owner or the rightful owner do in this case.

 

Each situation truly is unique and different in that scenario. I bought an account a couple years ago of which I was provided all the creation information. After about 8 months, the account got recovered. We went back and forth recovering it from each other and Jagex wound up indefinitely locking the account.

I've also seen them ban accounts for RWT that get mixed up in recovery wars.
