Depending on how much television you watch you may or may not have seen the commercials for the "Text your question" service called kgb_.

The way it works is you text any question you have to 542542 or kgbkgb and you will receive a real response from a human for $.99 (this will be charged to your monthly bill).

Regardless, I myself am a kgb_ "Special Agent", so I'm one of the many people who receive your questions and provide you with answers. I was wondering how everyone was feeling in regards to the service---whether or not you've used it, and if you have what you felt as far as the answers.

    Discuss.

Chacha came first and is free. KGB has funny commercials but they will never surpass Chacha

Offtopic: Yes, I am a Java Programmer. I programmed the minimizeable runescape bot JMacro (just search Google) as well as a variety of artificial intelligence programs capable of optical character recognition without prior references and image recognition without a preconstructed database.

    Ontopic:
I completely agree that Google is more efficient, but kgb_ markets towards people who don't have mobile web or a computer to access at the time.

ChaCha did come first, but it has such a strict limit on the number of questions you can ask per month (20) and 4 per day that some people would rather just pay.

20 free a month is better to me than 99 cents per question

Are you serious? I thought they were just random people in India answering the questions.

Lulu is an automated answering system and can only answer very basic questions so after you run out of questions, no agent will actually assist you but a machine will.

Dude lmfao I'm Russian too. When I saw KGB on my TV I was like "wtf??".

But tbh I think this is a stupid service. When you are willing to pay $1 and put your trust in some random guy to answer your questions, then I don't know what the world has come to. Just ask your friend or use fucking Google, jeez.

ChaCha however has implemented the 'X' monthly uses before you have to use their quick menu options. ChaCha was great when it was free and unlimited.

I saw a commercial once for KGB, and texted it and it asked if I wanted to pay that so I said no. I personally think $1 is too much to ask for a simple question that can be answered in 180 characters (text message).

I have some friends that wouldn't know half the stuff I'd be asking, so KGB would be the way to go. And you can't always have Google on your phone (some exceptions). And I mean, where do you think these people are getting the answers for you? Not to mention they're just as reliable as searching for stuff on the internet.

Yes, we work from home. We get paid $.10 for every original answer and $.05 for every common answer recycled from the database that we just link to the question at hand.

Chacha is better, you get 2 free questions every 2 weeks. However they are starting to get spammy like asking me where I live so they can send me special texts about whats in my area. I don't want that shit, I just want my question answered.

If kgb_ had 2 free questions every 2 weeks I would probably switch over. But a dollar a question for something I could look up on the internet in a second is not worth it.
