    Internet randomly disconnects

I think its a problem with my modem or ISP.
My modem is a Motorola Sufboard SB5101
    http://www.motorola.com/consumers/v...nnel=dbd392d8cb5ca110VgnVCM1000008406b00aRCRD

    My ISP is Rogers

    I am using a D-link di-624 wireless router

My internet will run for anywhere between 5-30 minutes then randomly disconnect then reconnect, which gets extremely annoying.
Any suggestions on what the problem might be and how I could fix it?
I've tried powering off both router and modem for 2 minutes.

edit: Its working alot better wired, I've been running it wired for about 20 minutes without disconnecting so far, so it may be my router

    Internet randomly disconnects

Probably your router. If you have an iPhone tether it to your computer and run it for about an hour to see if it stays on. If it does then it's your router. If you want to know how to tether your iPhone to your computer w/out jailbreaking pm me. See Matt I really do love you. (Looks down at sig) Honestly I do.

Same thing heres what to do.

Open safari on your itouch and go to the website:
    help.benm.at/help.php

Scroll down to "Mobile Configs" download it and then turn your itouch off and on.

    Go to settings-general-network-tethering

Turn it on. Then if your computer has bluetooth hook it up with that. If not plug it into your computer via usb. If you need more help pm me.

    Internet randomly disconnects

Hey, i used to have this problem when the internet would randomly disconnect and it really happened when someone called my house phone.

The reason it happened to me was because my router was a 2.4ghz wireless-g router and my phones were 2.4ghz and they were interfering with each other.

After that i just went wired and it worked perfect. Hope i could help.

Your router is probably dying m8. Try a replacement, or invite a friend over and tell him to bring his router and try it.

It is definately an issue with your router or ISP, so try calling them and explain your problem and they'll probably fix it

Also, switch your ISP. Rogers is pretty unreliable and expensive compared to my ISP; ACN

    Internet randomly disconnects

Is it DSL or Cable? I have the same problem... kind of. My internet resets itself like every week or so, the reset takes like 2 minutes. I have Verizon DSL.

i had this same problem happen to me...it was a horrible experience :\
in short, it turned out to be the modem. i had them replace it with a newer model they had and it fixed everything. so i suggest you call up your isp and ask them to replace your modem with a newer model.

    Internet randomly disconnects

To troubleshoot this, next time your internet goes down, check the lights that indicate connectivity/wireless on your router. Most of these problems are router (not modem related) or ISP related.

Also, if your router is in a bad position, give it some ventilation.

There is several things that could be the problem.
    1. Try to reset the router (Hold the rest button for 15 seconds
    2. Make sure you have the most recent drivers and firmware for your router and modem.
    3. Look for things in common when it disconnects. (visiting the same websites, certain programs running, etc.)
    4. If you computer is overclocked make sure it is not trying to draw data to fast for the modem faster then it can produce the data.
    5. Make sure you have your firewall configured correctly. (Make sure the firewall recognizes the modem, router, and check the modem requirements to see if there might need to be specific firewall ports that are required to be open.
    6. Make sure that there is nothing interfering with the signal.

If none of these help, feel free to pm me.
