NBA: The Off-Season and the 09-10 Season

A lot of moves have been made this off-season. Teams made moves according to their situations and plans for the future.

    My questions to you:

Who has had the best off-season up to right now?

    The Worst?

Which player will have the biggest positive impact on his new team?

    Negative?

Who's the favorite to win it all (conference and in general)?

The break-out team to watch out for?

Who's going to win the awards (I.E: MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, etc)?

    My Predictions:

To me, the Boston Celtics and the San Antonio Spurs both have had the best off-season. I'm not being subjective whatsoever. For Boston, they've lost Leon Powe but he was still recovering from an knee injury that's been plaguing him for a long time. It was time to cut loose ends and their front-court probably has the depth in the league. They lost 1 somewhat-important piece but gained much more. I'm talking about recruiting Rasheed and Sheldon (Daniels to follow upcoming), re-signing Glen, and drafting a versatile Lester Hudson. Hudson was a STEAL at 58 (only player to ever have a quadruple-double), he could do it all. Rasheed and Glen give the C's a front-court that's nearly unbeatable. Also notable, Marquis Daniels and Sheldon has increased the depth of the bench. Ray and Paul have been working pretty non-stop and these two can take some of the pressure off. Now all they need is a crafty backup to Rajon and we're almost guaranteed a championship. The Spurs have also had a GREAT off-season. I mean, it's incredible seeing them getting all their needs done with discretion. They pretty much gave up nothing (no offense) for Richard Jefferson and they managed to steal Dejuan Blair that late AND they managed to sign Antonio Mcdyess. Their front-court has improved. Richard also provides talent and insurance when Manu goes out with an injury (likely to happen, just saying).

Notable: The Lakers did a great job re-signing Lamar and "trading" Trevor for Artest. They are greatly improved.

The Worst: I'd say Portland has had a pretty unfortunate off-season so far. They were passed on some key free agents but ended up with Andre Miller (which isn't bad but isn't the best fit either).

Biggest Impact: Rasheed Wallace. You're talking about a guy who's as passionate (maybe even more) as KG and brings great intensity to the game. He's there to provide leadership down-the-stretch off-the-bench. KG or Kendrick can now breathe with confidence knowing that they've got a great veteran to take some of the pressure off.

Worst: Trever Ariza is basically a younger version of Ron. He's a great player with a bright future but Houston's going for championships NOW. They lose veteran leadership and some defense with him for Ron.

Favorite to win it all: West: Lakers East: Celtics

Win it all: If the Celtics can get a solid backup PG, they win it all :)

Breakout team: Clippers. No doubt that they will be very close or even, a playoff caliber team. They've been plagued with injuries and it hurt them very bad last season. They're looking healthier this season and they now have Blake Griffin to lead the charge.

Awards: Kobe: MVP, Blake Griffin: ROY, KG: Defensive Player,

The rest is hard to tell at this point...

OMG!!! The picture is the funniest thing I've seen this month!!!

I thin the lakers are going to win again, as they have Kobe and Artest.

    MAGIC? WUT?

They gained an old Vince Carter, lost a younger Hedo Turk. In addition they've lost Courtney Lee, Rafer Alston, and Tony Battie. All they got was Brendan Bass from the free agency and that's not too good.

Rasheed will be a problem but you can't argue his talent, Kevin will be there.

What he said. My raptors gained hedo but i doubt there management can make anything out of it.

Cavs also gained shaq so they possible have a threat inside the paint to take all the attention of lebron.

    Rasheed more passionate then kg??

    I personally love the Bulls
They almost knocked out ur C's and we didn't even have Luol Deng!

But Laker's repeat they got the better deal between Ariza and Artest since Artest is a BEAST on D

They have back a 90% Nelson atm, Carter said he might play some D, Bass is a up and coming star, maybe All-star, and D12 said he might give it in the butt not take it.

Cavs are going to win it this year. With their addition of Shaq, they are going to be excellent.

How will an old center help win a championship when teams are doing roids, having 200m payrolls, have the GOAT in KOBE kb24 black mamba the snake standing in lefrauds way?

No offense to Shaq but he's kind of washed up. Lol at the roids and Lefraud. Cavs won't get past the C's even with a injured Leon Powe pfft.

    Lakers < Celtics

    ALWAYS.

    Pierce giving D12 a handjob?

Gl with the team we beat 4-1 in the finals. Don't start that KG crap because they didn't have a Nelson on their team.

How can you even compare KG with Nelson? Glen Davis is nowhere near the threat that KG presents.

Even though we lost 4-3, we were more short handed than them.

They had Rafer come in, I mean for god's sake, he's starter-caliber good.

    KG out > Nelson out

PLUS we had to deal with a better team. The Bulls really weren't a 7 seed with the trades they had at the break. It was more of a 4-5 seeded match-up and it took a lot out of them.

Even though Alston showed mr pussy rondo fuck face, he's what going into his 11th or 12th year. Nelson will average at least 28 points in his prime.

    Nelson future> KG future/now.

Oh btw I edited that post.

    Orly?

    Rondo's Future > Nelson's Future

Rondo's developed into a triple-double just waiting to happen. Sure the points will not be there like Nelson but rebounds and etc make up for it.

But in all seriousness, KG's Prime rapes Nelson's prime.

Are you serious? People would rather have a rookie in Rose over the pussy in Rondo. Nelson is sort of like lefraud in a point guard, all muscle and black.

Nelson has a good 2-4 years before his prime anyways.

    Lol.

There's no doubt that Rose is talented and he will be better than Rondo. They play different styles but one thing that Rose will have over Rondo is the intangibles. Rondo's impossible to coach while Rose has strong leadership qualities and etc. It's hard to compare since they play so differently.

Btw: I edited the post above.

This was like Nelson's first break-out season. Who knows how the shoulder dislocation would affect him in the future

That's like saying how would those fucked up fingers of Kobe effect him, they slowed him down a little.
