[Dan Guides] How to hide a folder in WindowsXP.
In this guide i will show you how to hide folder's in WindowsXP so they are completely hidden.

1) Go to where the folder you wish to hide is.


2) Right click on the folder and click on 'Properties'.


3) Once you have gone into the properties menu look down to the bottom of the pop-up menu until you find 'Attributes'. You will have the option of 'Read-only' or 'Hidden'. Click on 'Hidden'.


4) You may think we are done but we are not since the folder is still visible. Open the folder and click on 'Tools'. A menu will appear and click on 'Folder Options'.


5) On the list of tabs click on 'View'.


6) A list of options will appear in a list. Look for the option called 'Hidden files and folders'. The default option should be 'Show hidden files and folder' change it from that to 'Do not show hidden files and folders'.


7) When you have done the step above click anywhere beside the folder and click on 'Refresh' your folder should then be hidden.


8) Your folder should then disappear. If you then want your folder to re-appear then just go to any folder and go to Tools>Folder Options. Then go to 'View' and set the setting again as 'Show hidden files and folders'.

Thanks, probably one of my shortest guides but it gets to the point also has a lot of pictures to help even when you don't know what you are doing.

 

I would rate maybe 8/10. I like it to. I believe that a guide should be short and to the point. Not long and complex so that readers get bored.

This is a good guide even though it is short. Good layout, easy to read, pictures. It is nice, even though this guide has been made so many times before.
