How do you know that? What is going to be added to completely sell enough people to spend $1,000 on a system? I honestly doubt this price you put on it. I however don't doubt they'd release a 'slim' model, they did it with the PS2.

 

PS3 slim is not official yet, but Im sure Sony is making it or planning to do so.

 

Wouldnt surprise me. They did this with the PS2.

The models seem like how the 360 came to be. There were plenty models on which would be the next one, those just look like they were models before the PS3 we have today.
