The whole point of a community is to learn, have fun, share ideas, help each other - and help mould your community into a better place. A community that doesn't accept input/suggestions from it's users will find its end soon enough; and from the looks of it that seems the direction "sythe.org" is going in =/.

A user ought to put in work. That's what he's here for. That's how he contributes to the welfare and success of our community. There will always be a part, and always a very large part of every community, that have no care but for themselves, and who's care for themselves reaches little further than impatience of immediate pain, and eagerness for the nearest good.

Yes, and we work every time to do so. There have been a number of new things implemented in my time as HUE to help improve activity. Some have failed, some have succeeded. I don't intend to quit trying to improve though.

Arguing with this statement would be a waste of my time. The answer is no, it will not resemble that.

Pen = Offers advice and approves the various changes we make to the UE section
R33l (Me) = I moderate the section to the best of my abilities
Venom1 = Seeing as I have IRL conflicts coming up, I will need the help, therefore a new HUE was necessary.


To add another point, we are in NO WAY obligated to explain why we do things and how we do it. You complaining advances nothing. This whole thread is nothing but a rant and you have offered NO suggestions on how to improve.

If there is one thing I've heard over and over in my life it's "Be proactive, not reactive". If you aren't going to offer a solution, you have no right to complain.

When I'm on vacation, I still go on Sythe. I still do small things around, but. I'm still on fucking vacation. I still have limited time online. I still want to be having fun, not working on a website. Sure, I still do small things, but nothing big... I'm busy as hell IRL now, but I still manage to keep active enough. People on vacation are still allowed to use the internet and Sythe. People don't have to dedicate their lives to this site.

 

Then don't take the rank if you plan to be inactive.

 

When did I say it was excused? I have removed people from the team before for inactivity. If I feel they have become a burden to the team, they are removed.

You don't know my situation... I do more than enough for both my mod rank and my UE rank with the little time I spend on Sythe a day... You can't see what I do, because I don't do shit everyday that everyone can see.

 

We all fail to see any change. It is the same excuse every time you try to defend those who are inactive.

Elaborate why you have 4 user's, 24/7 who are the only ones doing what they are suppose to do, help the community.

Yes, actually they do. People know they take vacations, if SuF can manage it why can't they?

I don't care about your programming rank. This is about UE, not programming.

Why is there a team to educate users when they aren't the ones educating them?

 

The team is made to keep a education section nice and good. The rank shows that they have proven them selves worthy of wearing it for helping others, and our public activity lacks but so does the staff's. Some of the best people in both these groups have almost no public activity, and you guys have to deal with that.

Guides? When was the last time a UE made a guide, Straggler?

I fail to see any UE's helping people.

All you have to do is make 5 guides, not much of a challenge there.

Point being? UE's are not required to write Guides. They are to help out others in the composure of their Guides, the H&R sub-forum, and helping out others elsewhere throughout Sythe.
