They drain all the oil out of the car that is traded it, and then run sodium silicate (liquid glass) to make the engine lock up, so it can't be used for parts. This in ultimately makes more cars be sold to them, so they can get rid of all the old cars and make people buy new ones. All these cars are going to waste, just so the car companies can sell cars.

Please don't sell your car into this.

I don't know how well this well help them, I'm going to go ahead and guess; Not enough.
I think this thread would be more appropriate in the SFA forum, but it's also welcome here.

How will it not help them? They are destroying old cars, which means parts are going to be more rare which means they will have to buy a new car when a part breaks on their old car they can't replace.

Cash for Clunkers is a program the US shouldn't be able to afford. The cars are destroyed while other people would gladly purchase them(for less than 4,500, of course).

That probably wouldn't be that hard it was running less than a year ago. It would be expensive though. He would rather just get some money from it. He would rather just get some money from it. So he can buy a better car.

Don't forget though, this is a positive step for the environment. Newer cars are generally more environmentally friendly.
I have to agree though, it does just look like a revenue building 'Kick-the-poor-while-theyre-down' exercise.
