Sub $500 laptop for school.

I'm looking for suggestions as to what laptop I should get before Fall semester starts. I'm probably just going to pickup one of the sub $500 laptops on Newegg. Ideas?

 

uhh honestly if your going to get a $500 laptop i would jsut get a netbook, but you probably play runescape so if you do you wont want a netbook then i really dont have suggestion for you, but if you spend a little more (like double lol) you can get a pertty decent laptop

Web, email, docs, hulu, torrents, multi-tasking with CS4 apps for work.

The extent of my laptop usage.

I know what I need my laptop to do and what the specs need to be, what I'm asking is if anybody would suggest any particular model.

I'm been looking into ASUS' Netbooks. I could deal with the Intel Atom processor, but most sub $500 Netbooks have about 1GB of RAM. No good for multi tasking; at least not on the Atom.

Edit: I've considered getting a cheap Netbook and throwing Ubuntu on it. More efficient use of minimal specs.

I have a dell netbook and they are great, I don't really use it for much except browsing the internet and school related stuff so I can't complain.

You will not find a laptop cheaper then Dell Netbook's.

It has everything you want, with the exception of being able to play a couple of games for fun if you are bored.
