Lucky bug abuse ban!

About a week ago there was a bug in pvp worlds (and still is) where you could go out of the wild in a pvp world and gain potential unfairly. Well, while doing this bug I realized you could be attacked and that's only because someone attacked me in the process of doing so. I tricked a bunch of people into doing this for quite sometime and than finally today after scamming over 10m I was banned for bug abusing. BUT! I was only banned for 14 days. Why? Shouldn't I be perm banned?

Also, I did appeal the offense with an interesting appeal that I will put up after it is sucessful or denied. Gl I guess.

Also, you can't gain potential there anymore but you can still attack people.

My appeal worked, I am now unbanned!!!

i had a target and i was there, she got suspicious and attacked me randomly.

That really lucky man, usually they got all out on buy abusers like macros and the like. I would consider myself very lucky.
Especially after a good haul of 10m+

 

Yeah, I went to log on after work and it said account disabled. I was like ah well I guess bug abusing is over for now. Than boom, only a 2 weeks ban. I was wtf!

VERY lucky. If the bug abuse effects the economy, and goes on for quite awhile of abusing the bug would most likely result in a permanent ban. Though all the bugs I find, I don't use them on a main. Either come here and buy a cheap nooby account that's able to do it (not a pure, too obvious... something worth loosing) and just abuse the hell out of it if it's messing up the economy.

Ehem, sorry about that, got carried away their. In other terms, gaining drop potential unfairly has nothing related to the economy. It's like auto-walking from one place to another - if you do get a ban for that, it's only a temporary ban, had no effect on the economy.

Why am I speaking of the economy? Well, Jagex is mainly concerned about their shitty game going down hill because some bug abusers or autoers abused the hell out of the game to bring down a price dirt cheap so anyone can afford it (as when 26king first came out) but yes, most likely if you do this again it's a PERMANENT BANHAMMER, so be careful.

few of my mates have gotten 14 day bans, but i heard on forums its glitched, ment to only be 3 days.

Most people that abused the bug only got banned for "14 days" though if you click on the evidence page it is only 3 days or something.

I was banned for same glitch. One day i saw a youtube video about it so i tryed it out for 30 mins with my real life friend and i left. 1 week later banned.. Message says 3 day ban but i got 14/13 day ban and my real life friend was also banned.. Sucks getting banned when you didnt do shit..

Also a jagex mod has posted on rs forums saying it is a 3 day ban but somehow it says 14/13 so they will fix it soon hopefully.

I didnt abuse nothing pretty lame ban for nothing done wrong..

This account has temporarily removed from play as it has been found to have broken Rule 4 - Bug Abuse.

We recently identified a bug which allowed players to gain Earning Potential through cheating. The bug allowed players to move outside of the playable area on a Bounty Hunter PvP World and remain there indefinitely gain Earning Potential. This area can only be accessed through bug abuse. It is impossible for legitimate players to reach it through normal play. Whilst fixing the problem we also put in a flag to identify any players still trying to cheat in this way.

Your account has been temporarily banned for repeated attempts to abuse this bug. Our records show beyond any doubt that you have attempted to cheat and your account has been banned for 3 days as a result.

We have given you a temporary ban this time. Your account name will be recorded and observed for any future attempts to cheat. Should this happen, a permanent ban will be issued regardless of the severity of the bug abuse.
