Why Doesn't Someone Create a Better Runescape?

Well, after all the stuff Jagex has done to ruin runescape, I got to thinking, why doesn't someone just create a game that was like how Runescape was? I would assume more people would join it, and the person who would make it would become a millionaire. I would assume that there is some game code information that people could use but im not sure.

I know there are Runescape private servers but those have to be downloaded and such, are there any private servers that run like Runescape does?

 

Doesn't FrugooScape or whatever run like that? I tried it once a while ago but I could never get on, but I know you didn't have to download anything.

 

Yeah there are, not sure which ones but I played a few long time ago and they didn't need to be downloaded. Still boring tho-.-

 

Do many people play these ones? and why were they so boaring? and i guess that Jagex sued Frugooscape for stealing their game code so you can't play that anymore...

 

If somebody made it to make money, there would be charges pressed against them for copyright and shit...

Mopar etc. are probably the closest theyll get to it

 

What all can runescape copyright? and couldn't someone just do the same idea but with different things, btw Jay Ox, if your signature has to do with the lil wayne song that songs the best

 

Pretty much everything in RuneScape... Making a game like RuneScape for money would be a breach of the copyright, so the person(s) making it would be sued.

If it's basically runescape, and you do solicitation for their membership, it's copyright infringement. But, if you make a private server, and NOT host it on a site like sythe, I don't see how jagex could figure it out.

 

But i mean there are games that are similar to rs that don't get in trouble: wow off the top of my head. Why not make a game like that but a little more similar to runescape

 

If it's not runescape, then it's fine. Runescape has in fact taken things from WoW, and not gotten into any trouble whatsoever. For instance, the grave stone. In wow if you die you can go pick up the items you lost. Same with rs. If I remember correctly, the grand exchange is the same as something forge. (I don't know, I'm not a wow player.)

Nothing you have to pay for, but there are private servers you can PK on. Usually empty though

WoW has an Auction House.

Also if you mean a new game that would be really hard. As for private servers, there are a few big ones out there that people still like pking on.

 

Why don't make it? And as someoen said, moparscape is the closest runescape you will get.

 

because it took jagex 6+ years, and 50+ programmers to make, and you expect someone in 1 year to make something just like runescape? it would also take thousands of dollars jsut to HOST the server.

no, your a dumbass, moparscape isnt a server.
its jsut a CLIENT so people can mess around but the pking SUCKS the best server atm is battlescape.

Dude. Moparscape is its own server. You don't need to flame people for being right. True, it's a client, but you can also launch a server from the menubox. Don't assume you know everything.

Battlescape sucks btw. You start out on Lunar Isle or wherever it is and you have no idea what to do.
