Are six admins really needed?

If admins are not suppose to do spam reports and such what are they suppose to do? Change their stupid usertitles every so often?

31 pages of spam reports, and you add another admin that is not suppose to do spam reports... It doesn't make sense.

 

5 admins are really not needed. Unless you're saying the admins are so lazy that each of them can only do a tiny amount of work. Forgive my honesty.

Instead of promoting more people to admin, who does not do reports, why not promote people to global and sectional moderators so they can clean up that 31 pages of crap? You guys aren't making any sense. >_>

I really don't know much on what Admins or Mods do, But from reading what you typed, I'm guessing your saying that Sythe is full of spam threads and is in need of more Mods but instead some members are getting promoted to Admin instead, which is less of a help? Well correct me if I'm wrong, Please.

 

Administrator ~ They run the site and keep it together, while overlooking all the moderators.

No. There wouldn't be an AdminCP if it was just that what they're supossed to do.

 

Admins are responsible for different things on the site.

Sythe makes, approves, and oversees important decisions, is the primary link of communications with USFine, manages the server, and takes care of various other aspects of the site. Matthew is in charge of donations (when they're open) and does a lot of the technical stuff. He recently paginated the ban list so it doesn't take forever to load <3 Ryan is Head MM, and will be responsible for reworking the MM application if further adjustments are necessary, and approving applications before voting.

It's true that Pen, Finn, Ryan and I will probably act in similar capacities. As general admins, we are responsible for considering suggestions and bringing worthwhile ones to Sythe; we handle promotions and try to gather votes on incomplete polls; we sort out mod disagreements and member issues with staff; we clarify or create rules when an issue is otherwise unclear; we handle IP bans, TWC's etc. On top of that, we still act as globals and lock, infract, delete, and whatever else. If an admin wanted to do spam reports, he could; I just don't think that's a priority use of his/her time.

Also, keep in mind that we're not always online at once, and during the school year, we all have RL issues to deal with. Having enough admins that one can always be reached when needed is hardly a bad thing.

 

Alot of admin work is behind the scenes they do work just you mgiht not always notice it.

First off, Fin why was he re added to admin no offence fin i think you're cool and nice but they really didnt re need you.

 

There used to be 7 or 8 Admins and, debatebly, there still weren't even enough then. Virtually none of an Admin's work on the site is prominent, unless new forums/promotions are involved. Most of what we do is background. You won't see us doing it, and you won't see what we're doing.

Adding an extra Admin vindicates the Admin team and makes things even better due to a further person freely devoting their time to the site - not worse.
